POTC is great, well for a number of reasons, but also because it's that unique canon that lends itself to threesomes and foursomes very easily. The third film closed the door on that a bit (or a lot), and that's fine, the writers needed to do what they did and they told the story they wanted to, but I sometimes circle back to that first film and sort of want to cut it off right then, and live in AU Land.
Wordy McWord. The fun thing about POTC fans is that so many of them are pleased as punch to enjoy both the 3-Movie Canon Compliant storylines and the end-at-COBP AU worlds as well. The sad thing about POTC fandom is that a few folks are lovin' on one perspective and hatin' on the other one, to the detriment of the community's peace and good will. Happily, most of that kerfufflage seems to have blown away like a summer squall.
