So, was Sam's dad acting as those brothers (Gene) or was he more or less innocent and at wrong place at the wrong time (Sam)? The show didn't seem to clarify that, unless I missed something.
Vic was actually the Morton Bros.; Gene actually said, "Never crossed our minds that one man could be pretending to be two men." And he would've killed Sam, too, had Sam not unloaded the gun.
FWIW -- no spoilers -- but, as someone who adored S1, I sort of feel obliged to mention that I was really, seriously unhappy with S2, and with the exception of 2 eps, I really, really wish I hadn't watched it, because it almost killed my love for the show and characters. Thankfully, I can still happily revisit S1; K wasn't so lucky, unfortunately.
