hafital: (ST:TOS -- I am awesome)
Hi guys, I have a favor to ask on behalf of a good friend of mine who owns and operates www.bakespace.com. The website has been nominated for a Webby Award in the category of social networking! She's very excited about it, but is up against really big websites like digg and and stuff. Being nominated means Bakespace gets to participate in the People's Voice Award. She asked me to do what I can to get some votes.

I've mentioned Bakespace on this journal a couple times before. If for nothing else, this is a great website when you're looking for recipes and it's an even greater website if you want to share them.

When I registered with the Webby Award website, my validation email was instant but it went straight to my spam folder, so definitely check there. Thanks, guys.

Oh and, if my friends gets to attend the award ceremony, Flight of the Conchords will be there! How awesome is that? They're going to be guests because of their whole push for their fans to remake and remix their songs and videos.

To vote, simply:

Visit http://pv.webbyawards.com/

Register to vote... it takes just a few seconds, and you can use whatever name you like (so long as you use a valid e-mail address)

Once registered, you will receive a validation e-mail - it's instant, so if you don't see it in your inbox, check your spam folder.

Click on the validation link in the e-mail to activate your voting ballot.

Once logged in, select BakeSpace in the "Select a Nominee" pull down menu at the top of the page. That will take you directly to the "Social Networking" category where you can vote for BakeSpace.

Place your vote & that's it! Easy as pie!

Bakespace and Kitchenaid have teamed up for the month of July, in an Appliance-A-Day Giveaway.

Looks like fun and easy to play. :D And, gosh that mixer looks great. It makes me wish I had time to cook. Maybe I should just get all the pretty appliances and things and make it *look* like I cook. heh. If any of you do want to join, use this link! so I get points. woo. Tell a friend.

Incidentally, this is me on Bakespace. If you join up, invite me as a kitchen helper. :) Only, to help my feeble attempt at keeping this LJ more or less under wraps, don't point to this LJ or to the name hafital, if you please, danko. :)

I've been meaning to post this and then keep forgetting. For those of you with dogs and cats who are also inclined to cook *g* (and in light of recent pet food issues), check out the Woof/Meow Treats recipes available on Bakespace.com.

Please take note of the disclaimer on each recipe.

A while back I did a post about my friend's recipe sharing website bakespace.com. It's been very interesting watching this site grow and it's now up to almost 3800 members and over 2000 recipes. Some of these recipes are so incredible looking. If you like to cook, check it out. Also, bakespace.com was featured today on a segment of Good Food, on our local NPR station. (fifth interview down)

Incidentally, if anyone joins bakespace and wants to invite me as one of their kitchen helpers, that would be awesome (although, I'm such a scatterbrained cook I don't contribute much besides salivating) but please don't point to this LJ or any of my fiction. danko. :)
