I think RTD said something in DWF about how there would be different one-off companions for each special, though whether they'll introduce Eleven's companion in the final special remains to be seen.
I think I read that somewhere, too, which honestly doesn't bother or surprise me. We shall see about Eleven's companion! wheeeee.
