an OTP meme

I saw this on tumblr, but thought I'd post it here instead.

OTP Meme:

Choose 5 OTP’s without looking at the questions, then answer the questions. Tag 5 people if you want. Or don't tag. I'm saying threesomes are a go.

1. Alec Hardison/Parker/Eliot Spencer
2. Duncan MacLeod/Methos
3. Janeway/Paris
4. Mulder/Scully
5. James T. Kirk/Spock

Procrastination! YES.

I saw this on my tumblr dash but I have no idea how one is supposed to respond to this type (or really any type) of meme on tumblr so I'm doing it here instead. This is exactly the type of meme I love to answer because sometimes months or years later when you look back and see your answers you're like "omg why did I answer Pulaski for every question?? what was I thinking?" haha.

Um. This is long. And I may not have an answer for each of these. My memories of DS9 are murky, at best.

Day 21 - Favorite ship

I'm assuming by "ship", we mean any pairing? I never know what qualifies as a 'ship. Is it canonical, is it het pairings or slash pairings, is it any pairing at all, is it only a 'ship if it has a certain amount of fiction/fans? Can I, by virtue of having two people get it on in a story, thereby declare it a 'ship? This 'ship business is silly. lol.

This one's going to be without supporting evidence. The answer's fairly obvious, in any case. :) Why yes, my favorite 'ship is indeed Duncan/Methos. I could go on and on about why, but the main reason is simply that I like them a whole lot. One might even say that I adore them, and they're cute, and fun to write. And as a pairing (and a fandom), there's a lot to mine and explore.

And there are several runners up:

Chakotay/Paris (enemyslash? really?)
Kirk/Spock
Elizabeth Bennet/Fitzwilliam Darcy (oh wait, that's not a TV show...)
The Doctor/Rose (yes yes, go ahead and make fun of me)
Jack Bauer/Tony Almeida
Vinnie Terranova/Roger Lococco
Elizabeth Swann/Captain Jack Sparrow (oh wait, that's not a TV show, either...)
Sydney Bristow/Michael Vaughn
Alex Drake/ Gene Hunt
Dorothy/Ozma (oh wait...)

And probably several others that I'm blanking on.

Day 09 - Best scene ever

There are of course far too many wonderful scenes in existence to comprehensibly pick the *best*, so I shall not try. Instead, I'll just list a few that come to mind.

And, there's many more, but I'm kinda done. BED.

I miss you!

~~~
Realizing that my actual online fannish activity has dropped below to negative integers, I remembered for the first time today to read my flist. I see there's some sort of greater discussion about LJ and DW. Frankly, I'd move to DW in a hot minute and the only reason I haven't is I'm a lazy bum. And straddling two journals is difficult for me. So, how's that for selfishness.
~~~

Horrified that I hadn't had any honest to goodness fannish content on this LJ in weeks, I thought I'd do the [livejournal.com profile] fannish5 this friday.

List 5 fictional doctors you'd want treating you. (Or not.)

1. The Doctor (preferably Nine, but honestly, I'm not picky.)
2. The Doctor, EMH Mark 1, Chief Medical officer of the USS Voyager ( :D :D :D )
3. Methos (he's still a doctor!)
4. McCoy (if only for the running commentary.)
5. Dr. Bashir

Yeah, 3 Trek doctors. Well, what do you expect, honestly.

Also, I now think it would be hilarious for The Doctor to meet The Doctor. HAHAH.

~~~
In other news I'm in love with a gray western arab pony named Jake. He is the bestest pony EVAR.
hafital: (ST:XI -- Pike)
This was written sometime in 1999/2000 as a response to a challenge issued on ASCEM by [personal profile] laurajv:
"Anyone who can write a serious Kirk/Cyrano Jones will win...ummm...one silly, NC-17 rated K/S, S/Mc, *or* S/C from me. First come, first served, one time only offer. If you take me up on it, please cc me on the story post. :P"
The story she wrote for me, which I highly recommend, is called An Infinitely Tender Hand, and is available at her website.
Beta thanks go to T'Aaneli and Greywolf.
Au Revoir
ST: TOS
James T. Kirk/Cyrano Jones
+2,600 words
all ages
Kirk gripped his glass tightly as he looked out into the semi-crowded room. There was nobody here he recognized, which was good. He wasn't looking to recognize anybody. Just the bartender. )
hafital: (ST:XI -- Pike)
This was originally written for the first Spock Fuh-q Fest in, um, 2000? Beta nods go to T'Aaneli. Please link to this entry, and not the version of this story on my website.
Reciprocity
Star Trek: Original Series/Star Trek: The Next Generation
Spock/Will Riker
+3,800 words
Adult
You can't deny he's an attractive man. )
hafital: (ST:TOS -- Uhura)
It is very strange rediscovering these old stories.
This was originally written for the second wave of the Spock Fuh-q Fest, in 2000, reposted to dreamwidth as a back up.
My assignment was Spock/Janeway. :D I am amused by how well the pairing works, and also by my quite brilliant timey whimey, wibbley wobbley plot. haha. If you think about it, this story is not entirely jossed (jjossed??) by the new film.
Blanket of Stars
Star Trek: TOS/Star Trek: Voyager
Spock/Captain Janeway, +5000 words
Adult
With thanks to my betas, Jhava, Islaofhope, and Jat Sapphire.
I once told Harry Kim that 'weird' came with this uniform, that it was what we do as Starfleet officers. The strange and unusual. The fantastic. The incredible. )
As a backup to the website, the first of my non K/S Star Trek stories is now available.
Innocent When You Dream
by hafital
ST: TOS, Adult, 11,041 words
Pike/Chekov
Thanks to Jhava and Islaofhope for betaing, long long ago.
I took advantage of being master of my own universe and willfully and blithely edited the story before posting it. So there. As scary revisit to my early fic writing days goes, it wasn't that bad! Except I had clearly not learned the value of "less is more" in regards to sex scenes. heh.
Revisioning this story with the new Pike and Chekov was interesting! And I think it works, but this follows TOS canon, just fyi.
Dude, that rhymes! hah.
Name fifteen favorite fannish pairings (het/slash/canon/fanon), and ask people if they notice any common traits/tendencies in the pairings you choose. Try to pick different fandoms.
I was tempted to put Duncan/Methos fifteen times. lol.
1. Duncan/Methos (Highlander)
2. Dorothy/Ozma (Oz books)
3. Jack/Tony (24)
4. Vinnie Terranova/Roger Lococco (Wiseguy)
5. Kirk/Spock (Star Trek... oh heck, either incarnation)
6. Tom Paris/Chakotay (ST: Voy)
7. The Doctor/Rose Tyler (SUCK IT, LOSERS) (Doctor Who)
8. Elizabeth Bennet/Fitzwilliam Darcy (Pride & Prejudice)
9. Mary/Parks (Gosford Park)
10. Danny Ocean/Rusty Ryan (Ocean's 11)
11. Sirius/Remus (Harry Potter)
12. Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth Swann/Will Turner (what?) (Pirates of the Caribbean)
13. Catherine/Henry (Northanger Abbey)
14. Sydney/Vaughn (Alias)
15. Harry/Gay Perry (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang)
I notice no tendencies other than I'm possibly cracked in the head.
Comment to this entry and I'll pick up to three of your fandoms. You must then update your journal and answer the following questions:
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Star Trek meets X-Men Comic. And other wacko comic book crossovers. Nutty!
~~~

Speaking of Star Trek and my goal of watching the entire franchise chronologically, it only took me *mumble* amount of time, but I have FINALLY made it to Star Trek: The Next Generation and watched Encounter at Farpoint last night, after watching Turnabout Intruder

Turnabout Intruder:

~ Holy macaroni, that is one of the more disturbing episodes of television, ever.

~ I'd forgotten about 90% of the plot. I just remembered that Lester and Kirk swapped bodies, but that's it. I'd forgotten about Lester's hatred of all things female.

~ I'd also forgotten Lester-in-Kirk is CREEPY. Shatner trying to be a woman trying to be a man. YIKES. Also, there was much interpretive dance moves in this one. Very dramatic. In that interpretive dance move sort of way. *g*

~ Spock holds Kirk-in-Lester's hand! It's like, the sweetest thing. Kind of weird, though. But the whole interaction between Kirk and Spock in this episode resonates very strongly, particularly in contrast to the manic behavior of Lester-in-Kirk.

Encounter at Farpoint:

~ I was all verklempt seeing all my old friends again. And so young, omg.

~ Oh right. Troi and the crying. Always crying. And these long, lingering shots intercut between her and Riker and her large, luminous dark eyes. I'd blocked all of that out of my memory.

~ They wrote Wesley's part as if he were a five-year-old.

~ Q is silly!

~ There was tentacle stroking in this episode. I'm just saying.

First, a Doctor Who fic rec:

Bed Bath and Beyond by [livejournal.com profile] cjk1701. Written for [livejournal.com profile] sizeofthatthing, although not listed in their master list for some reason.

I found this doing a random search on whofic yesterday when I was overcome with a need for Donna fic (omg Donna don't leave me. *sob*). It's lovely, with understated angst, and is surprisingly hot for being more DoctorDonnafriends than Doctor/Donna. And short, as most Donna fic seems to be at this moment. Set post Midnight, no spoilers for 4x11 or 12.
