Star Trek meets X-Men Comic. And other wacko comic book crossovers. Nutty!
~~~
Speaking of Star Trek and my goal of watching the entire franchise chronologically, it only took me *mumble* amount of time, but I have FINALLY made it to Star Trek: The Next Generation and watched Encounter at Farpoint last night, after watching Turnabout Intruder
Turnabout Intruder:
~ Holy macaroni, that is one of the more disturbing episodes of television, ever.
~ I'd forgotten about 90% of the plot. I just remembered that Lester and Kirk swapped bodies, but that's it. I'd forgotten about Lester's hatred of all things female.
~ I'd also forgotten Lester-in-Kirk is CREEPY. Shatner trying to be a woman trying to be a man. YIKES. Also, there was much interpretive dance moves in this one. Very dramatic. In that interpretive dance move sort of way. *g*
~ Spock holds Kirk-in-Lester's hand! It's like, the sweetest thing. Kind of weird, though. But the whole interaction between Kirk and Spock in this episode resonates very strongly, particularly in contrast to the manic behavior of Lester-in-Kirk.
Encounter at Farpoint:
~ I was all verklempt seeing all my old friends again. And so young, omg.
~ Oh right. Troi and the crying. Always crying. And these long, lingering shots intercut between her and Riker and her large, luminous dark eyes. I'd blocked all of that out of my memory.
~ They wrote Wesley's part as if he were a five-year-old.
~ Q is silly!
~ There was tentacle stroking in this episode. I'm just saying.
