In other news, I took all of last week off work to do some editing on original stuff, which was good and relatively productive. I also took a few riding lessons during the week and jumped my first little x-rail with a sturdy little white pony called Sharky. yay!

Then I attended escapade_con this weekend, and despite being fairly unfamiliar with most of the fandoms represented, had a lovely time. And actually, I have to say, not being even remotely invested in any of the fandoms is a far less stressful experience. *g*

But the important part was getting to see and hug my friends, all of whom I very much miss all ready. Love you guys. xoxo.

Sunday afternoon I left the con and spend the evening and night with my best friend S, who lives not that far away from where the con was. That was nice. I got to cuddle my BaileyCat some and S and I saw that Denzel film The Book of Eli which was creepy and odd, so that's good.

So, lovely week and weekend.

However, I am beyond excited to sleep in my own bed tonight.

I've been putting off posting this on the vague hope that I wouldn't need to, but unfortunately there is no way I'm gonna make it to Escapade this year. You can pretty much blame this entirely on the monster that is my unfinished thesis, although in some ways I think it might be a good idea for me to have an off year.

While I'm sad not to see my friends and collect much needed hugs, not attending Escapade is actually a huge relief right now, one more thing I don't have to deal with, which should tell you a bit about the state of my mind.

It's possible I may be able to drive up for lunch or dinner, though! That'll have to be determined closer to the date.

My cable and internets are out. booooo. As always happens in situations like these, I then have an itch to get rid of the whole shebang. But, while I don't really need cable, one does need the internets. sigh. Skimming off of my neighbors wireless is not where it's at, people. I hate Time Warner.

There's something wrong about leaving for Escapade from work and returning from Escapade straight back to work. I disapprove. Especially when I then have to read legal contracts with some sort of comprehension!

I think I left my brain at the bar on Saturday night, after the Vid Show. Fortunately, it's not often required for day to day functioning.

I frolicked with many a lovely lady this weekend and had a great time doing it. There was Highlander, Torchwood, Miracles, Vids, DANCING, Hugs, fannish love, PIMPING, Supernatural, SUSHI, alcohol, snuggles, laughing!, purple nurples that tasted like motor oil and sugar, dirty martinis (I counted seven total), a smidge of 24 love with adonnchaid, ROMANCE VS DOOM, and, last but not least, "pass me my drink and my lube."

Ladies and, er, ladies, another wonderful Escapade. A more (hopefully) thorough con report to come when my brain is shipped back to me by the kind hotel staff.

YAYZ. I'm leaving work in a half an hour (WOO). fantastico. Catch you all later.

Clearly I am not going to do any kind of extensive Escapade con report, and I could pretend like I will, but I'd be lying, and really, it's been over a week now. *g*

Back to reality. :) Having gone to Escapade from work/school and returned from it straight to work, this year it felt very much like a dream.

I had a great time. I miss everyone already, and all the wonderful laughter and discussion. I'm going to try and do a con report before the end of the week.

Why does work/RL insist on becoming crazy just when I need it to be quiet?? WHY?

In other news, I'm going to this bigwig shindig tonight, instead of a) doing laundry, b) packing, c) finishing my story and other assignments for class (of which I haven't even *started*), d)doing the thousand other myriad of things I need to be doing, instead of hobnobbing with total strangers.

(So, yes, I could have said no to the invite, but where's the drama in that?)

Somehow, I will get all these things done, and still go to work tomorrow and still go to class, and still make it to Escapade before the end of the day. Somehow... Man, really looking forward to Friday. :)

of the YAY: Escapade is only THREE days away! Wahoo. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm 100% ready to leave RL behind for a few days.

of the BOO: I have class on Thursday evenings, and while I would normally just skip class, I cannot skip this week's class because things are due and well, blah blah blah, so this means I won't be getting to the Escapade hotel until late. I'm not sure how late, but I'm thinking probably 11pm is a good guess, or around there. In the grand scheme of things, that's really not that bad, but after so many years of getting to Escapade in the early afternoon, it almost seems like an entire day wasted. Booooo. But, oh well. Can't really skip out on the expensive education, now can I? (actually, I'm totally skipping the following week, but shhhhh. Don't tell anyone.)

In other news, is it Escapade yet?

And also, it's about 99.9% certain I'm going to Prague for THE WHOLE MONTH OF JUNE AIIIIII!!!! That .01% will remain until I have my actual ticket in my hand and until I have an official acceptance from my school to the program (although teacher keeps telling me I'm definite. aiiiiiiii). EEEEEEEE.
