heart broken

Friday night I came back from a long walk, returning to my "office" at home to do a bit more work, only to see a pushed twitter notification on my phone of Chadwick Boseman's untimely death. I remember the first thing I loved about him was his wonderful smile. Big, beautiful smile, infectious, that automatically transmitted joy. Actually one of the things I missed in his performance of T'Challa was that the character didn't smile or laugh enough, but then none of them do, really, while in character and on screen.

This is a blow, it's so sad, and heartbreaking. My heart goes out to his family and close friends, to those that worked with him. Cancer is such a fucker, and the battle against it is so difficult, I can only hope he's at peace now, and resting in power.

I have an open tab with a half-written LJ post (notes to aid my forgetful brain) that I've been meaning to get to, mostly about finishing The Clone Wars and random Jedi feelings like it's 2005 or something but I haven't managed to carve out the time and mental space to write it up proper. Tumblr is easy because you're just scrolling and only writing tags.
