Day 05 - A show you hate

I don't watch shows I hate, I don't do that to myself, and what's the point of hating a TV show? Torchwood brought me very little enjoyment -- there were definitely *episodes* of TW that I promised myself I would never ever ever have to watch ever again ever ("Countrycide" pops up as the prime example), but I thought Children of Earth was some excellent TV, so, I can't say I hate it. I greatly dislike large quantities of reality television -- I can't stand American Idol, to be honest. And shows like The Bachelor make me want to throw rocks at my TV. haha.


Day 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite TV show

There is no way I can do a better job answering this question than killabeez did in her post. I'm also tempted to answer with something kooky like "The Ransom of Richard Redstone" or "The Stone of Scone", two episodes I love for no good reason other than they make me happy. :D :D

Another favorite of mine is "Courage" -- a powerful episode about friendship and self-destruction. My heart breaks for Duncan every time I watch this episode.

For me, it's a close call between "Till Death" and "Methuselah's Gift". I go back and forth -- "Till Death" has the camaraderie and the love, it has Fitz, it has Gina and Robert, also Duncan and Methos living together, and fun deleted scenes, and cajoling Duncan and grumbling Methos. In other words, there's no end to the happy. "Methuselah's Gift", on the other hand, has heartache and friendship, love and sorrow, it has Amanda, a hurting Methos, and of course a heroic Duncan. And a cat. It also has the moment on the bridge when Duncan steps out to save the day. In other words, it's darn near perfect.

I'm not sure I can choose between them, so I'm not going to. :D

Dang, now I want to watch Killa's and Carol's HL vid "Opportunities". :/


Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show

I am again tempted to defer to Killa's post answering the same question, and indeed "For Evil's Sake" does have evil mimes drinking absinthe in it. Also, get a load of the blurb for this episode (from Wikipedia):

Immortal Kuyler (Peter Howitt) makes his victims laugh so that they drop their guard and he can kill them. MacLeod, having seen Kuyler kill Baron Deschields in 1783, recognizes Kuyler's modus operandi when an old man is killed in a nearby café. MacLeod remembers how Kuyler caught him without his sword in 1980, resulting in MacLeod fleeing on a Bateau Mouche and meeting Tessa for the first time. MacLeod, knowing Kuyler's taste for absinthe, tracks him down, then fights and beheads him.

When has a mime made anyone laugh that hard? But, I love the Duncan/Tessa stuff in that episode, so it gets a pass from me.

There's also "Avenging Angel":

Alfred Cahill (Martin Kemp) is stabbed by a prostitute, dies and awakes Immortal. Made insane by the shock of becoming Immortal, Cahill believes he has become God's avenging angel and starts killing prostitutes and people around them, including a client and the pimp of Tessa's friend Elaine Trent (Sandra Nelson). After Cahill threatens Tessa, MacLeod fights and beheads him.

It's kind of an excruciating episode, imo.

But, really, there's one HL episode that gives me practically no enjoyment at all and that one would be... "The Road Not Taken.":

Richie's friend Gary dies in a bank robbery. When MacLeod and Richie see his body at the hospital, they notice strange marks on Gary's forehead. MacLeod remembers those marks are an aftereffect of the potion made by his immortal friend Kiem Sun (Soon-Tek Oh), which gives people enormous strength and makes them ignore pain. Kiem Sun tells MacLeod his potion has been stolen by his student Chou Lin (Dustin Nguyen). MacLeod finds Chou Lin and destroys the potion, which makes Kiem Sun so angry that he fights MacLeod. MacLeod defeats him and spares him.

I find the episode dull and annoying, vaguely irritating, and rather pointless.
