You really put your finger on something, I think, re: the problem of Batman's physicality. The costuming has evolved in unproductive directions
I think in part they are wanting to copy the Christian Bale costuming, because it was every effective for him (although also too stiff imo) but without taking into consideration that Bale and Affleck are NOTHING ALIKE. Not even a little bit alike. We are looking at two very different approaches to the character and two very different styles of acting. AND two very different body types. So, they are trying to graft Affleck in, which is a mistake. He's making the character is own, though, but he is fighting that costume. But he did have a lot of scenes out of the costume, or disrobing from it, so at least there's that.
