I loved the Lost finale, too! And I find your character judgments mostly head-nodding -- save Mr. Eko, who I adore, in part because of his mysticism. *g* I, too, hope Desmond is not dead, and I don't think he is, myself.
I've seen other people being unhappy about it; I think what saves me is the same thing that kept me enjoying Twin Peaks when other people were worn out by the mystery: I don't really try to solve things, I just let them happen, and I'm not looking toward a goal, toward resolution, particularly. I mean, I'd love to know what it's all about in the end, but I just enjoy the ride!
And I'm up to season 3, episode 6 on Alias, which I'm also adoring, and Sloan is EVIL and it's a crazy, insane, roller-coastery show, and I can tell already I'm going to be very sad when it's over!!!
