I watched both Rome and 24 with my parents, so my squealing had to be somewhat constrained. This was not easy, people! Do not expected coherency here.

Oh Vorenus! Oh Pullo! The kissing, the grieving. Covered in blood, their love shines through. Posca made me so sad. I loved Mark Antony fighting that worm whatisname, Pompey's son. I really loved Antony cutting his throat. The scene after the assassination, between Sivilia, Brutus, that other guy, and Antony was so well done. So so well done, the writing, the acting, it gave me shivers.

I love that they continued the parallel they drew at the end of the season between Ceasar and Vorenus & Niobe, continuing it with the funerals. I'm rather horrified at what theoretically happened to Vorenus' children. I'm tentatively holding out hope, mostly because off screen deaths like that spell not-really-dead to me.

I thought not showing the Antony's famous speech was an interesting choice, and it worked well, although I really kind of wanted to see it! sniff.

Aside from watching for Vorenus and Pullo and they're true love, I'm really just watched to see Mark Antony and see what they do with him. I love the controlled rage he had. My absolute favorite moment in this episode was when Brutus came out of his home to agree to Antony's plan, the hug Antony gave him, the kiss on Brutus' cheek -- God. I don't even think I can describe that. Antony seduced Brutus all the while Brutus knows he's being seduced, feels his skin crawl with it, but doesn't stop it because, well, Brutus is incredibly divided. Perfect. Looking forward to next week!

Get it right, or you'll be next for the King of Goats overthere. -- Attia

I loved the reveal of who the president was. WOO. It took almost the whole first hour to remember who the heck Karen Hayes was. I squeaked when I saw Chloe. I yayed when Curtis appeared. I danced in seat when we saw Jack Bauer for the first time, all scruffy and super damaged. I made Paul Gross arms when we first saw even just the picture of Assad. I seriously seriously hope we get to keep Al Siddig for several episodes. OMG, he was wonderful, and handsome, and I'm so happy to see him! \O/ Yaaaaaay.

I can't believe, really, that no one believed Jack Bauer. I mean, come on, people. They should all know better, and it made me love Jack all the more, that he still went ahead and rescued Assad, but that's very typically Jack Bauer.

Also, um, ImaytotallybeallabouttheAssad/Jackeeeeeee. I loved all the scenes between Jack and Assad, the looks Assad gave him, seeing how Jack was quietly freaking out in his Jack way. I'm well enough aware that with 24 things can change in literally a minute, so I'm just really holding my breath that Assad isn't killed.

They're saying this season is going to different then the previous ones, and I'm all for that, especially if it means Jack breaking down and Assad comforting him. heh. Although, seriously, in the previews for next week when they show Jack saying he can't do this anymore, I'm really really surprised he's been able to for as long as he has already without cracking, so I think addressing that is probably a good thing. He really looked like he was severely tortured. I want to know what the price was President Palmer the Second had to pay. EEEEE.

Damn! I don't have either a Rome or a 24 icon. Boooooooo! I'll use a Bond icon, because I can. wheeeeeeee.

OK, the most important thing--you do know that there's 2 more hours of "24" tonight, right?

I think the big thing this season is that Jack isn't going to be able to do the torture thing anymore. Hey, maybe he's going to join Amnesty International! *g*

Oh, and I forgot to say

How could they not believe Jack?? I mean, just because he'd been held for 20 months and tortured and hadn't said a word. It's Jack! He's always right. Except, of course, about the guy who wouldn't tell them anything but Assad knew better...

Anthony really did have to cut a bitch. And it was excellent.

I'm really hoping that the kids are alive too, though I doubt they will be: I think the writers are trying to reverse the family man/footloose wanderer dynamic between Vorenus and Pullo.

Brutus is being written really well this season: a lot of the characters seem to code him as a coward, but he's got his own honour - he turns up his nose at Cicero's fawning. And it really was a seduction: complete with kissing and everything! (My brain can always be counted on to go to the lowest common denominator.)

Oh, that's interesting! It does give the writers a certain flexibilty they didn't have before, making Vorenus a single man. However, they can do that and still bring the kids in again later. It's more profitable to sell them into slavery then to kill them just for pleasure.

Yours and mine, sister. Yours and mine. Although, how can you not go to the lowest common denominator when looking at any of Mark Antony's actions! heh.

*nod* Very true. And, if the show continues for a third season, they can use that to build a further storyline if the children come back at a later date.
