O.O

Um, if anyone is curious about 24, you can watch all season 6 episodes online.

I've had about a half an hour to come down after watching. *frazzle*

A lot of stuff went on in this episode but I'm not sure I remember anything beyond Jack holding his brother, cradling Graem's head between his hands, while Graem was being tortured, tortured by Jack. I'm still sort of reeling from that scene. Oh, and even before Jack started, when he had his back to his brother and you could see how much this was going to pain him, how difficult it was to not only torture someone, but torture his own brother, even if Graem was evil, because Jack didn't know just how evil. I don't think he even knows it now! I think he thinks Graem is still sort of misguided rather then evil, but he IS EVIL OMG. And then, when his brother confessed to masterminding the assassination of David Palmer, Tony, and Michelle and Jack's FACE. Omg, his face, crumbling, just dear lord, and then how he completely *lost it*, that even the other agents were looking at him with shock and dismay and holding a gun on him. AaiiaiaiaiaaEEEEE.

And then, Papa Bauer!

Oh Papa, you were good for only a brief span of time. I should have suspected when you shot that guy in the chest, right at the beginning of the episode, but I was foolish, like Jack. And then I should have suspected again when you said to Jack that he deserved a better family. That sort of rang a bit OTT to me, and now I know why, but I thought you were sincere! And then, when you asked to stay behind after the OMG Fraternal Torture! scene, I knew you were up to something. That was when I began to suspect you would either flee or kill Graem. And you killed him! You're worse than Graem! I didn't think that was possible. You probably are the big bad these season, I'm thinking. Amazing. That was... rather awesome, that whole scene. Lordy. *fans self*

Er, and uh, other stuff happened. I'm kinda liking President Wayne. On the internets I see a lot of negative comments about him, but I kinda like him. I loved the conversation he had with his sister, and how that made him realize he could not go along with Tom Lennix and his evil little plan. OH! And that reminds me, The V.P. is Powers Boothe! Holy cow, I just finished watching him in Deadwood. Eeeeevil V.P. Boothe! Of course, this just means Tom and the V.P. are going to have to do something else, something worse, to get what they want. Meep. I suppose we all knew Tom wasn't working alone.

I'm of course worried about Morris. I liked how they did that this season, getting a "mole" into CTU without it being a mole, which I'm glad about, because I like Morris. I had a funny moment when McCarthy got him out of the car and it was like the battle of the british accents. hee. I wonder about McCarthy's girlfriend. I feel she's going to roll over and snitch on her not so dearly beloved.

Next week, Assad is back. *frets* And more bad shit happens.

You know, I've been kind of obsessed with this show this season (for a value of "obsessed" that is some fraction of the level with which I am Winchester-obsessed), but tonight's episode kinda went too far for me. It was a little... I dunno, it made my head hurt. But I want to discuss with you. *g* And, um...

OTOH, Morris!! *meep*

DB Woodside is unbearably pretty.

How so, to far? With the torture or the uberfucked family dynamics? Both? Evil Powers Boothe? *g* I'm sorta just riding the ride, not thinking beyond what's been given and trying not to see too far down the road. For me, I'm not sure how I will feel if they don't resolve the Assad character in a why that I won't feel cheated. This whole show makes my chest ache. But, I think in a good way? Mabye? lol. *I am* reaching high levels of obsession, though, which is strange. I'm trying to be good and not start watching the first seasons, which I haven't seen yet, because I really really (I mean really) can't spend all my time watching more TV. Bad timing for obsession. Although the structure of the show doesn't really allow for much exploration outside of what they can squeeze around the plot, I too noticed his reaction to the mention of Tony. I'm also totally loving the subtle performance KS is giving in showing how out of sorts yet still crazy awesome Jack is, what with being tortured for 20 months and all. Poor thing. I think maybe he's a Cylon

Also, not related to 24, but OMG *why* didn't you warn me that Wild Bill Hickock gets killed in the fourth episode!?! I just watched it, which considering I was till coming down from 24 maybe wasn't such a good idea, but I didn't think it would be so soon! *SOB*

Why am I still awake??

*HUGS* Can't wait to see you! Only a few more weeks. YAYAYAYzzzzz.

OMG, S1 is so good -- I hadn't realized you hadn't seen the earlier seasons! S1 is totally worth watching.

I mean, it won't be as wild now as it was then -- that was the first time I'd seen a show that operated in realtime, 24 episodes for 24h, without eliding the passage of time in any way -- but it's still awesome. And the character stuff is great. And the quotient of both torture and explosions is fairly low; they did a lot of interesting stuff with the grey areas and the trust issues and the backstabbing. It reminded me of how I used to feel watching XF -- "Trust no one."

After that the seasons kind of blur together, and I know I didn't dig S4 because it felt like an apologia for what was happening at Abu Ghraib ("no, really, torture is justified if the bad guys are really bad!" bah), but S1 is so worth it. :-)

I just haven't had the time to watch the earlier seasons! I know if I start watching it's going suck all my time.... It's killing me. lol. And I know it's not going to be as intense as watching it fresh, but I think I'm okay with that -- and I'm really at heart in this to watch the character stuff more then the plot. I'm fairly spoiled for a lot of what happens, too. This way, maybe it won't be so crazy!obsessed. *g*

After last night I am *so* glad Donald Sutherland turned down the role of Jack's father! I don't think I could deal with that at all!

God, can you imagine? *wibble* I should think he would turn it down. Lordy.

I read that he told them if they couldn't tell him it turned out all right between Jack & his father, he couldn't do the part. I just think that's very sweet.

Awwww. *cries* That is sweet. I can't even imagine how intense that would have been. *shiver*

I know! I know! I -- auuuuuuuugh!

Jack with the torture -- and the tortured look, let me add, because this was obviously painful for him in some deep emotional way -- and then Graem rolling over and admitting about the Palmer thing (and trying to turn himself into a "patriot," yeah right buddy) -- and you know, I thought Papa Bauer's line about "a better family" was OTT too, so I should have realized bad things were coming. I didn't see it until he asked for time alone with his son, and then I thought, "oh, fuck, no."

My favorite moment may be the one where Papa Bauer is watching Jack torture Graem on the security system, looking appalled and sad -- I thought it was because one of his sons was harming the other, but no, it was because Graem was admitting things to Jack! *g* And also the moment where Papa Bauer just stood at the door, and Jack saw him there, and suddenly all the fight went out of him and he stopped trying to kill his brother.

Man, oh man, this season is crazy!

Meeee toooo, OMG. I didn't really see it until that moment, and even then, I just knew he was going to kill Graem, I didn't really think all the way to how evil he could be. Jack must take after his mother? meep.

And also the moment where Papa Bauer just stood at the door, and Jack saw him there, and suddenly all the fight went out of him and he stopped trying to kill his brother.

Oh man, yes. And also, right after Papa gives his little speech about "you deserve a better family" and then they're just sitting there, I can *feel* Jack needed or wanting some sort of physical contact with his father. There's this huge pregnant pause, but neither moves, and then Jack walks away and his *face*. I still can't get over it. Its totally disconcerting to see Jack so broken. *petshim*

How is he going to be when he figures out his father is behind it all? yipe.
