--Still one of the best written shows out there, no matter my grumbling. Glad to see BSG pull itself out of the mess of season 3. I thought season 4, so far, to be much more comprehensive.

--However, I'm still kind over the darkness of this show, the constant unpleasantness and terrible actions of characters I'm trying, really trying, to like and love. But they can all be so ugly, and I do appreciate how terrible a situation they are in, but it's exhausting and I for one am going to be glad when the show ends, as brilliant as it is.

--I am not cool with Gaeta being hurt and losing his leg. NOT COOL AT ALL. THIS IS TERRIBLE. DAMN THEM. First he's barely there, and THEN Anders shoots my Gaeta's leg. not happy. They should have Allessandro sing more!

--The Cally storyline made me physically ill.

--I kind of hate Tory. I was trying to find something to like about her for the longest time, but I'm failing.

--I must confess each time we got a dose of politics, I got a little bored, and then they brought back that attorney from last season with his invisible dead cat and then I really wondered why I was supposed to care.

--So, in the early days of BSG, I found Baltar tedious. And then slowly over last season I started to really like him, totally grooving on crazy!baltar with his mad, always tearing eyes and the sheer panic he had to have like in every ep because in every ep he almost saw his end realized; I don't know, he grew on me. And now, through most of season 4 so far, I wasn't really feeling him any more, the whole prophet thing is just so blergh. However I LOVED Baltar on the Cylon Bay ship with Roslin. And I loved her, too, with him, the strange almost camaraderie they found, her not killing him, him somehow being a decent human for just a minute. It was so tender and strange for the two people who really spend a lot of time hating each other.

--Lee Adama makes a great president, surprise surprise. Each time I think I'm over him and his man-pain, I like him again. Desperatly glad they pulled back on the Lee-Kara-Ander-Dualla foursome immense wank and selfishness. Much easier to like everyone now.

--The bit with Tigh in the airlock and Lee and the recently resurrected 3 Deanna (sp?) was awesome. If only to see Lee so rock solid and in command.

--OMG may I never ever ever have to see Admiral Adama crying like a little baby ever again. /o\ jeezus.

--Thought the show did a really good job of slowly bring about the alliance, which very nearly went boom so many times, but then by the end they had a truce.

--The entire time everyone was celebrating when they found Earth I held my breath, I was certain one or the other side would turn on each other, or someone would kill someone and the alliance would go to shit or the centurions would stage a rebellion (and speaking of, BALTAR DO NOT TALK TO THE CENTURIONS. someone better button him up. bwah) or something. I was braced for disaster and was SO glad nothing violent happened. v. v. tired of the violence.

--I loved the final image of all of them wandering around Earth completely disillusioned and in shock, cylons and humans alike, together. I sure hope the alliance lasts longer than one episode. Be a nice change.

--In conclusion, Admiral Adama/President Roslin FTW!!!

Love the jaunty crown. Although, I'm a bit disappointed in the costumes in these pics. I mean, if you're going to do modern dress for Shakespeare, why not play with it some, in my not at all humble opinion. Personally, I would not have put Tennant in anything resembling a suit, but they are clearly going for a wealthy high society look there for the party scenes, and not much spectacle.

ETA: I was just saying to friends of mine that there needed to be another Dorian Gray film. Can't argue with the casting of Lord Wotton. WOO!

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season, especially since I didn't expect them to find Earth until the very end. Like, what now? Also, Chief going bonkers freaked me out. I thought he was going to kill Baltar for a very long moment, there.

Interesting look to Hamlet. (Am looking forward to seeing it in person, eeee!) The National Shakespeare Theater did a production of it here in DC a year or so ago, and went in a very different way with the modern dress. Hamlet was an angsty, teenaged, emo boy in a black hoodie and Doc Martens. I thought that was pretty brilliant. ;)

Ahahaha. That's like Jethro as Hamlet. Perfect.

I'm sure this RSC production will be all kinds of awesome. Truth is you can do Shakespeare in T-shirts and jeans, if you make interesting interpretations and have the cast to pull it off. Just, you know, if you have the budget for it, why not make it visually interesting, too! But hey, I don't doubt for one minute that this RSC production won't be stellar, in more ways than one. *g*
