flew back from Mos Eisley space port
Aug. 25th, 2008 10:47 amand boy is my hyperdrive tired... ba-dum-pa! :D
Sorry, sorry. That was really bad. I should be ashamed or embarressed or something.
My first few years at college I did several cross country flights back and forth and the carrier we used always had a connection through Las Vegas. I always called it Mos Eisley. hahah. DORK. :D :D
Can you guess I just got back from Vegas? Oh yeah, baby. It was best friend S's birthday last week and to celebrate we got a room at the Wynn and had a lovely mildly debauched weekend. Veerrrrry nice. I won $60 at craps and then lost $40 bucks at video poker. d'oh!
On Saturday we lounged by the "european-style" pool. That's cheezy-speak for topless, in case you didn't get it. We did not go topless, hardly anyone did, but everyone and their grandmother preferred the adult pool to the regular pool and the effect was that it was hella crowded, yo, but we loved it for the unintentional hilarity. Nothing quite like a bunch of hard-core beautiful-people wanna-bees standing around in a waste-deep pool with cigars and cigarettes, drinking bud light and mixed drinks. It was awesome.
That night we went to Tryst, which, I dunno, I never heard of before but apparently it's one of those hot spots. It was fun but very warm, crowded, and had some amazingly aggressive men. I have had my fair share of unwanted attention at clubs, sometimes flattering, sometimes very much not, but that was on a whole new level. Never fear, we stuck together, us girls, so there was never really any harm of danger -- mostly bemused amazement.
And the rest of the weekend was mostly eating and drinking, a bit of sight-seeing. I did not get to go see the Star Trek experience or whatever it is called. I know, I'm a bad fan, but I wasn't with the right crowd for that, and I don't really feel a loss about it. *shrug* I did get to see the Bellagio which was thrilling just for the Ocean's 11 factor. Though, I gotta say we were totally spoiled at the Wynn; not sure I'd care for any of the other hotels.
And now I'm back, sore-footed, and slightly groggy. *g* Those of you from Las Vegas on my friend's list, I thought of you guys, but there was no way in 24 hours to do anything but what the birthday girl wanted. Maybe next time I'll have a longer stay in the city of sin.
