--DID YOU SEE THE PART WHERE JACK PUSHES TONY UP AGAINST THE WALL AND THEN BASICALLY DRY HUMPS HIM FOR LIKE A REALLY LONG TIME??? that scene was better than a lot of sex scenes I've seen, and I wish I were kidding. I almost had to look away because it was that intimate. And I was with a non-slash/non-fannish person while watching so I couldn't say OMG HE'S THRUSTING AGAINST TONY. THIS IS CODE FOR SEX. HECK. IT'S NOT EVEN CODE. THEY'RE DOING IT. DO YOU SEE?? and could only boggle inwardly a lot.
--See, when Jack bangs you up against the wall and yells at you and is all in your face and squeezing your neck, it's his way of saying I LOVE YOU. I know, it's twisted, and more than all kinds of wrong, but that's Jack. Bless. *pets*
--I'm well glad there seems to be less of sad!suicidal!Jack so far. He seems to have wrestled most of his demons, at least on the surface.
--I was totally spoiled for Tony's return, yayz, and accidently spoiled myself for his not being truly evil this morning (and not like that was really a surprise, anyway) and I knew aleady that Chloe and Bill (OMG BILL. BILL ILU NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN????) but I did not know they'd be returning so soon! YAY. My people, they're back. I missed them all so much. The break was kind of nice, actually, for my sanity, but I did miss them.
--Okay, I admit it, I squealed like a pathetic 13-year-old when PW first popped on screen in his shnazzy dark shades and his stoic "I'm a bad guy!" face. I'm on a complete Highlander kick right now and totally deeply in love with Methos at the mo', so, I was breathless and flaily and jumping up and down and pointing at the screen a lot.
--HOWEVER, I'm totally conflicted with his being cast. On the one hand, yay he's on my TV again and yay for work, and just yay in general because he's cute and handsome and lovely and just yay, but on the other hand, my universes are colliding and I don't particularly enjoy watching him as a bad guy, to be honest. And the accent throws me, and he's playing the part so... lock-jawed. I miss his expressive face. :(
--On the other other hand, after the whole Alexander Siddig/they killed Assad the bastards (for which I have not forgiven them, although they nearly have it if they keep Tony alive forever and ever) thing last season, it's SO MUCH BETTER if he remains evil, because that way I don't really fall in love with his character so when he's killed, which will happen, it won't hurt.
--On the other other other hand (that's four, so far) he looks mighty fine being all bad ass. I'm so glad they kicked his character into higher gear toward the end of that last hour, finally.
--24 has a history of casting favorite genre TV actors and then killing their characters off violently. I wonder if I should but in a request. Please to be casting Val Pelka next. Patrick Stewart? If they cast Christopher Eccleston, I'll probably flatline. I'm just saying.
--So, yay PW, but honestly, this is going to be all about Jack/Tony for me. The love, it burns.
--Tony is really really good looking. Like woah. With the scars. And the sad smoldering eyes. And the gravelly low voice. He's a latin Jack Bauer. I loved that they lifted his shirt and he's got a little paunch. I want to rub his belly. RUB DA BELLY.
--Jack. On the floor of car. Driving. From the floor. "This is going to hurt." He drove the car. From the floor. Over the concrete railing. He had to get to Tony, you see.
--24 has trained me well. I now suspect EVERYONE of being a double/triple agent or a traitor. I'm bound to be right as often as I'm wrong. The FBI Lady (Walker?) is okay. I like her, except for the part where she becomes like Jack in less than a minute (wtf), but other than that she's not bothering me. Her boss on the other hand, is totally evil. I'm calling it. He's too annoying otherwise. Jeanine Garafalo is also on my list. I don't trust those flutterly nervous types. *shifty eyes*
--Did I mention the dry humping sex scene in a FBI interrogation room?
--President Cherry Jones!
--There was stuff about a military coup. And a fictional African country with a darned good looking Prime Minister (seriously, they eye candy is off the scales so far). And some device that Dr. Phlox cooked up in about 3 minutes that can defeat any national firewall in the country and cripple the nation instantly (Did they not learn anything from the Cylons?? *g* Please tell me my country is not so stupid as to have one national firewall for all its systems). And a dead son. And the country on the brink of some large scale military action. And stuff. yeah.
--The only parts of this show that I don't like is this weird justification/rejection for torture issue thing they've got going. It's making the subject matter even more ridiculous, that it's being bandied about on a TV show, of all things.
--In conclusion, Tony and Jack, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g. Ya know it.
oh dear. I need to upload one of my 24 icons.

Date: 2009-01-13 09:51 am (UTC)JACK AND TONY! BACK TOGETHER AGAIN! (I really will stop with the capslock now, promise...)
I love the new season; Renee Walker is cool, ditto the President (though doubtless she will order Jack to his almost-certain death at least four times throughout Day 7, in the grand tradition of 24 Presidents), Chloe!!! is back...
This season's going to be awesome.

JACK AND TONY! BACK TOGETHER AGAIN! (I really will stop with the capslock now, promise...)
ahaha. Okay, if you stop then I guess I'd better, too. :D 24 is a capslock kind of show.

I know! And I can't wait! It's going to be awesome. Although each president we have makes me miss President Palmer and all of the intense phone conversations he and Jack had even more. I can't help it, I loved that guy. *is sad*
Maybe I should rewatch season 1.

President Palmer! (At least, PP 1; I refuse to acknowledge the brother. He was okay, but he was no David.) I miss Season 1. Watch it! I think I will, too; it'll distract marking papers over the next week. :D

Date: 2009-01-13 01:53 pm (UTC)Do we know for sure that Methos, I mean Peter, I mean Mr. Emmerson is a bad guy? I keep flashing back to last nights conversation re his background. SAS? Maybe he's the Brit version of Jack and Tony? Hey, a girl can hope. It'd be nice not to have to go through the whole Siddig sadness again this year.
President Cherry Jones and First Gentleman Colm Feore! Theatre greats north and south of the border! They are so stroking all my kinks here this season.
My real question is, is the list of genre actors longer then the list of Canadian actors this season? *g*

But see, that's the thing. There are two options for him: evil and eventually dead, or good and eventually dead. Honestly, Assad broke my heart last season. I'm not sure I can handle loving Emerson and then having him killed. There is a *slim*, very very slim, chance he won't be killed, either good or evil. To quote the Doctor, it is possible, it's just really really unlikely. *g*

Date: 2009-01-13 06:11 pm (UTC)Yes, two options. But it would be nice if we got the good and eventually dead one for a change. Or maybe they'll do like Michael Shank's character and just leave us hanging?
Lord knows with this show anything is possible.

Date: 2009-01-13 06:45 pm (UTC)but that's what they did with Assad. *sob*

Date: 2009-01-13 06:53 pm (UTC)I say, at this point, it looks like he's not totally evil, just mostly evil. He may turn either way.

Date: 2009-01-13 06:56 pm (UTC)I did find his conversation about why Jack came back to face the Senate hearing was interesting. So maybe he'll be around longer then most of the bad/dead dudes who usually always outlast the good/dead dudes.
Either way I figure we're going to get some great manips out of this though! *walks away singing "always look on the bright side of life..."*

Yeah, I was having a hard time with that. If they would ever seriously address the opposite standpoint, I might not be so bothered. But Jeanine Garagolo objected and backed down in the space of two seconds, and the FBI guy who objected came off as a useless prick. sigh.
That said, holy cow was Tony hot. And PW, goes without saying. Was. Smoking.
