I went to see The Day After Tomorrow this weekend. If you're into disaster movies, this one was really rather well done. The science, of course, is totally wacked, but you can buy into it easily enough, and go along for the ride. Dennis Quaid? Yum. And I'm totally warming up to the young actor who played his son, Jake Whosiwhatsit, the Donnie Darko kid. (yes, I could go look up his name, but I'm NOT, so there.)
So, I nearly lost it during the tornado scene in Los Angeles. For those who haven't seen the movie, several large tornadoes go ripping through the LA area, just about laying the city to waste, or near it. Although it had absolutely NOTHING to do with 9/11, that was all I could think of watching that scene, and then I was on the verge of tears for the rest of the movie. Must have been the way they filmed the dust everywhere and the camera crews and the people running (and dying), 'cause yow. That doesn't even happen to me watching actual 9/11 footage, so it was odd, but I made it through.
Like the little Antarctica freak that I am, I was just enthralled during every single one of the freezing cold exterior scenes. heh.
~~~
I am quite possibly writing the most boring Duncan/Methos story ever. And I'm okay with that. *g* At least there's sex.
Can I just reiterate how much I hate livejournal as a repository for fiction? It SUCKS. And then it sucks some more.
(psst, Killa. Got the goodies! Thank you! *smooch*)
