Much excitement in the horseback riding arena today. One uppity horse + One skittish horse = tifah on the ground. boom. I don't know what was going on with this other lady's horse in class today, but for some reason he flipped out and remembered he was an ex-racehorse. Naturally, Skittles was disconcerted. The first time Arrow flipped out, I managed to keep Skittles under some control just barely, although I had to dismount to fix my tweaked saddle. But the second time, the second time Skittles was already a wee bit nervous, and swerved in such away that I just couldn't keep my balance. The saddle was totally on the side. I'm fine! Not even very sore. I was mostly annoyed; I wish I could have managed to stay on through all that. As it was the lady couldn't get Arrow to stop so round and round they went pretty fast until finally my instructor managed to catch Arrow's bridle. Arrow? What up, dude?

I've ridden Arrow before. I thought he was great. Apparently he doesn't like group classes. Thoroughbreds. God love 'em.

Then, I trained for 4 hours.

OMG TIRED.

Ex-race horses remember that every now and then. They do love to run. My horse was an ex-race horse. I was playing in a polo game once, and riding next to another ex-race horse. The two of them looked at each other, and we two riders were passengers with no control as they took off for the end of the field together.

I'm sorry you ended up on the ground, though. That takes all the amusement out of runaway horses. Hope the massage takes care of everything.

:)

Oh I'm fine. Yeah, it ended the lesson a bit early, since it was the third time Arrow had decided to bolt. It was just something in the air. I think what freaked the horse I was riding out was that Arrow was coming up behind him. It was just a bad combo. There was a third horse in the arena who was all calm as calm can be. An arab. He was all, "it's too hot. what are you all doing?" hee.
