Courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] killabeez, I watched all of Primeval series 1. Wahoo. Despite the goofy exterior, that was actually rather tense. lol.

I am unspoiled for series 2, just fyi.

-- Really, it's hard not to love a show about dinosaurs running amok in the 20th century and the teeny tiny humans who try to stop them.

-- I could watch Stephen Hart all day. I'm just saying. Especially when he's walking. He's got these really long legs he doesn't quite know what do with them, but still manages to be graceful.

-- Also, I could listen to Nick Cutter talk all day.

-- Where the show fails for me is that there's not *enough* Stephen and Nick walking and talking together. Really, I'm easy. Not much else needs to be happening. lol.

-- Rarely have I disliked a female character more than Helen Cutter.

-- However, I adore Abby and Claudia to bits. I can do with a little less Abby in her undies though (as fetching as it is. wtf show).

-- Sadly, I find Connor a tad annoying. :/

-- I'm neutral on Lester. He's stretching my tolerance for the annoying/unbending/unsympathetic authority figure stereotype. But he does show off a nice suit, I'll give him that much.

-- [livejournal.com profile] killabeez, you did not warn me about the spiders! O.O jiminy wilickers.

-- re: series ending -- I guess I really am a Doctor Who fan, because I was very much expecting the Doctor to stroll in and FIX IT OMG RIGHT NOW. No seriously, up until that moment I wasn't really expecting the show to do more with the time traveling bit other than use it as a means for dinosaur antics, and then it suddenly got all twisty turny in the last 20 minutes and then THEY ERASED CLAUDIA DUDES THAT IS NOT ON. And without the Doctor, how the hell is Nick going to fix it? eee. Also, I truly felt his panic there, when no one knew what he was talking about when he asked where Claudia was. And then I was like OMG WHAT ELSE HAS CHANGED??

-- All in all, I did think the show was rather silly, but enjoyable. A bit weak in plot although it that does improve considerably, and stereotypical here and there, but I can't help but love Stephen and Nick and Abby and Claudia. :D

We agree on Helen Cutter. The plots really are bad. But DINOSAURS!

And I appreciate that's not just your garden variety T-Rex or velociraptors. No no, they're the obscure, the rare, the unknown dinosaurs!
