This post is completely meaningless and has no purpose other than to say how ridiculously fond I am of my pretty pretty boys. :)

I recently watched the HL episode Pharoah's Daughter and I have a confession to make -- I love this episode. There! I said it.

Okay, okay, it's not a very good episode. Aside from asking the audience to swallow a lot of Very Large Plot Holes (and of course I am more personally affronted by the inaccurate period costumes than by anything else, but that's just me), it's definitely one of their poorer eps. And still, I am inordinately fond of it. And I think we learn a lot about Duncan in this episode, particularly his deference towards older Immortals.

I mean, this ep gives us Marcus Constantine! I love him. Or, I really like him, anyway. :) I know I love Duncan to complete distraction so I'm an easy sell, but I adore how Duncan acts with both Nefertiri and Marcus, sort of in awe and protective, and just a bit timid. *g* And then there's the, ah, sex scene. *coff* But the part that really gets me is the scene where Duncan throws Nefertiri out of the barge after she kills Constantine's wife. We see Duncan angry and upset before and after this ep, but I don't know if we ever see him quite so completely furious like that when he's not actually in a sword fight. He gets angry at Amanda, but it's not quite the same, I feel.

Of course, I also love Ransom of Richard Redstone so this really shouldn't be that much of a surprise. *g*

In other news, life is busy. Work is busy. I continue to write, slowly. The summer is nice and shiny and warm. My only regret at the moment is that I've only gone to the beach once. I need to live on the beach, I think.

I'm still reading Pirates fic, which is fun, now that I have more of an idea where to look. Strangely, I find myself inexplicably drawn to the het pairings in this fandom, both Will/Elizabeth and Jack/Elizabeth. Most especially J/E. Like, a lot. Like, so much, I'm a little disturbed by it. And sadly, there's very little to be had of J/E, the best coming in the form of J/W/E, which is also nice, but there's NEVER enough J/E to satisfy me. I am woeful.

Oh I agree. There is nothing quite as endearing as watching Duncan *giggle* when Nefertiri is trying to walk on those shoes.

The sex scene was hot and he not only kicked her off the barge, he took her head.

What's not to love?
And I liked Marcus too

heh. Well, yes. But I'm not sure he would have if she hadn't left him any choice. Although, if she had continued killing he would have. I liked Nefertiri, mostly for how she affected Duncan. :)

I love Marcus Constantine. I love his suits. I'm happy they put in the lines about Darius (one general speaking on another) and that he's a curator with his own collection. Duncan looks impressed and a little envious in Marcus's office. If they had kept Marcus on as one of Duncan's mentors, it would have been interesting to see if it affected Duncan's taste.

I so totally agree. :) Duncan is impressed and a little envious with Marcus from the get go, it seems. It's too bad they didn't bring him back (or any of the other interesting immortals they only had for one ep).

Um...I like Ransom of Richard Redstone too. It's the only Richie episode where I actually like Richie. And Duncan in disguise is hilarious. :)

I actually like Richie in this ep too! There are other eps I like him in, as well, but RoRR is, I believe my fav Richie. Weird. :)

And I could go on and on and on about Duncan in that disguise. Like, forever. LOL.
