The medical timebomb: 'too many women doctors'
So, women are better and smarter than men, but we're still ruining things. Good to know.

On a completely unrelated note, my parents and I went to go see The Manchurian Candidate the other day. Denzel is great. Liev is fantabulous (and I've been a fan of his for a long time now). Meryl is amazing, and *why* has that woman not won an academy award yet?? ETA: okay, she has two. Why hasn't she won *more*. :)
They did a great job updating the story and making it work. It's just as creepy as the original. Although, if you haven't seen the original Manchurian Candidate, the black and white one, all I can say is that it's, imnsho, one of the best films in cinema history. I was a bit horrified at the thought of a remake, but I must say they did a good job, I thought so, anyway.
This is all by way of saying that one of the trailers before TMC was for Oliver Stone's Alexander. It looked shiny. :) I can already tell that Colin Ferrall's hair is going to drive me insane, but whatever. hee. Also, the trailer had narration and text that at one point said something like "He was a leader... lover..." and I swear I expected to see shots of Hephaistion, but of course it was Roxane instead. heh.

Date: 2004-08-04 07:30 pm (UTC)premise: more doctors are women.
premise: people don't respect women.
conclusion: people don't respect doctors.
okay, i'm with her on that; that's a known professional trend.
however, why must the answer be "get more men" instead of "get more respect for women"? why, oh why? *gnashes teeth*
