So I thought the servers were already in Russia? Whatever. I backed up to DW ages ago. I know people no longer feel comfortable even cross-posting anymore. I won't be deleting just yet.

Haha, my reaction exactly. Basically, I still and always have lived by the "don't post it on the internet if you want to keep it a secret" philosophy. However, it sucks that they bought it in the first place to monitor and stifle political dissent. That sucked years ago when it happened (2010?) and it still sucks. I have a permanent account, and the credit card I used is long ago expired, so I figure there's nothing to gain by deleting. (Same conclusion I came to in 2010.)

I do have some comment fic that never got posted to DW, but that's about it, and I have it saved in case I ever get around to archiving it on AO3. I hope lots of people archive things as a result. Sadly, most of the SPN fandom's vids have already disappeared long ago.
