Lost:

OMG, I'm loving this show. It's my kind of complex. I continue to be fascinated by Sayid. Locke creeps me out. Like [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh I automatically assumed the compass being wrong meant that either the island was off kilter, or their reality isn't really real, or something to that effect. I didn't go to the compass=Locke place, but my brain really doesn't work like that. *g* I do think that's a neato observation, although is he really off kilter? He's something, but whatever he is, it's more than just not pointing north, I'm pretty sure.

I can see the show getting even more strange and more twisted with each episode.

Alias:

Yay for Alias! Personally, I don't see how Jack can think Nadia still isn't going to find out the truth just because he told her a lie now. Of course, [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63 is probably right that Jack is still hiding something, which, if that's true, his actions make more Jack-sense. *g*

I also love Weiss so much. The whole time during the season premiere I kept waiting for them to bring Weiss in, nervous they wouldn't. Phew!

And how much did I love Marshall as the shiesty plumber guy?! heeeee.

I think they're doing a pretty good job of having stand alone episodes that still drive the larger arch forward. Tricky, that.

Law & Order:

Dude, did anyone watch that? What the heck was that? She says she's a lesbian and then she leaves the show?? Okay, I admit I find that both kinda cool and also a cheap shot at the same time. heh.

Highlander:

I had just started watching Season 4 when the holidays came and kidnapped me. Back to watching!

I watched Leader of the Pack and Double Eagle this week. LotP is one of those eps I love but always forget about and so it's like a little discovery each time I watch it. Torn and Bloody Duncan! Professor Duncan! Look-at-me-in-my-dork-white-underwear Duncan! These are all good things.

And DE is always fun. I"m inordinately fond of Kit O'Brady ("Ladies first. No ladies here, I see.") plus I get a bit of a Duncan/Amanda fix. We also get Handy Man Duncan in this ep. You can tell I watch these eps with an eye towards high brow deconstruction, can't you? *g*

::blinks:: There's a lesbian on Law and Order? Which character?

Look-at-me-in-my-dork-white-underwear Duncan!

I don't know. I think he looks pretty good in those underwear.

To (mis)quote Will Smith, he makes even dork white underwear look good. *g*

I discovered last night that Alias is simulcast in HD. OOooh, shiny. But how does Sydney have time to put on hair extensions before every single op???

Now there's something for Killa's inner dork to relate to *g*

He does make it look good! *g* He pretty much always looks good, even when he's looking bad, he's looking good.

But how does Sydney have time to put on hair extensions before every single op???

I don't know!! The CIA must have one amazing hair and beauty salon, I'm telling you.

The blonde ADA, Serena I think her name is. Apparently, she's a lesbian, as her second to last line on the show stated. Her boss fired her and then she said, "Is this because I'm a lesbian." wha?? *g*

I don't know. I think he looks pretty good in those underwear.

Oh, I never said he didn't look good in his tighty whities. *g* He's one of the few men who can where those and not look silly.

I thought last nights episode of Law and Order was waaaay out of order. To simply drop the "is it because I'm a lesbian" line in there at the end really left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It almost felt like they were trying to be trendy but instead it came off as cheap and totally undermined the character's four years on the show. Not that she couldn't have been a lesbian, just that the issue was totally irrelevant. It's as if they didn't know how to come up with a feasible reason to write her out so they just pulled something out of thin air.

For a series that is known for the deft manner in which it transitions from one actor to another this has to have been the worse handling of a departure ever. I am still extraordinarily disappointed.

I pretty much completely agree. I think it's cool for the character to be a lesbian, but the whole thing was totally off and not handled well at all, and looked like it was all just for shock value, which is cheap.

maybe i'm a dork too *g*, but I think Duncan looks pretty darn hot in those undies. He fills them out quite nicely

Of course, he would look hotter without them

Duncan and Methos BOTH look great in even the most unflattering underwear.
