Eleventy

Not much to say, actually. I found both episodes uneven but enjoyable.

~~ I'm loving Eleven. So far in series 5, he's really the one aspect that is working 100% perfectly for me. I pretty much love everything about him, so far, which is good because if it weren't for the fact that Eleven is so awesome, all of these episodes would crumble.

~~ So, I like Amy Pond, but there's something about either the character or the performance that's keeping me slightly at bay, and I'm not sure why that is. She's lovely, and for the most part I like the chemistry between her and the Doctor, and I appreciate it when she shows she's smart and does what companions do best, but I feel like she hasn't yet *clicked*. Like she hasn't quite yet completely stepped 100 percent into the TARDIS. I dunno. I'm not sure I know what I'm saying.

~~ That's not to say I'm not on board with the Doctor and Amy as a team, in however way you want to take that. I think I've determined I'm pretty much an across the board Doctor/Companion fanatic and leave it at that. *g*

~~ I did love the moment between them at the TARDIS when Amy's all so this is kind of serious and all that and you have enemies, as in arch enemies. It did seem like she wasn't taking anything seriously at all and was just there for a lark almost like a really crazy non-conventional bachelorette party, so maybe she'll "click" for me next episode. Although of course we meet up with River Song, so that'll probably throw monkey wrench, even a tiny one, into the mix. Amy Pond and River Song Oh Boy! *g*

~~ "The Beast Below" was creepy with the smiling man/grimacing man thing, but is it just me or was it choppy as all get out. I don't know. It's like someone forgot to photocopy certain pages of the script or something. I liked the queen, and I LOVED the moment when the Doctor decided to sacrifice the space whale to save the humans and he said "I'll have to change my name because I won't be the Doctor anymore." He said it so offhandedly and in such a way that you knew how angry and upset and disgusted he was with himself and everyone else, and he did it without shouting or anything.

~~ You know, for the second time in New Who, the Daleks have needed something from the Doctor (or from one of his companions) in order to "regenerate" or whatever. Seriously, they have as many lives as the Doctor!

~~ In conclusion, yay Eleven!
