Remember back in January of 2020 when we almost went to war with Iran? Good times.
I, like the majority of everyone I know and don't know, am working remotely from home. It's been both easy and difficult.
Mom and I have gotten into 3 fights so far. 2 of them today. But we make up quickly. One of today's fights was because whenever she talks about covid19 (and autocorrect, you can stop trying to change covid any time now) which is about every time she talks at all, she has to talk about some kind of conspiracy theory (her favorite one is that it was purposely engineered to cull the population) and THEN has the gall to say to my face that she doesn't talk or believe in conspiracy theories. The kicker is that she blamed my dad! Because he always was spouting conspiracy theories! She's like, your dad was the one with the conspiracy theories. Not me! Well he did like his conspiracy theories, but he's been dead for like 6 years.

By some kind of grace I realized this morning that I had forgotten my W2 at work. Actually, I didn't forget it so much as grabbed the W2-like doc that's not the W2 but the other form that has to do with healthcare. So I drove into work and got the correct W2, and then just a little bit ago they put all of California in a stay-at-home order, and we got emergency texts from my job saying the building is closed closed. Like really closed.
Anyway, sent off the tax docs to my tax lady.

I am seeing all the posts (mostly on twitter I think) about people going stir crazy confined at home, and all the posts about what to watch, and all the posts about content made free to entertain ourselves, while I am working harder than ever lol with no time to loaf around. Last week was actually more wild, because every day brought something different. But this week has been Very Stressful. Others have more stressful jobs than mine, so I am not complaining. Though I will say it's tough to work in an industry that's being hard hit by this. It just adds a lovely extra crunchy layer of piquanty stress. *chef's kiss*

I got one last horseback ride in on Sunday. It was glorious after most of the weekend spent inside. Fresh hair, a feisty horse, cantering. We couldn't jump because of the rain, but it was an awesome lovely lesson. Then on Monday, my trainer who is one of my best friends called to say she got laid off and the barn is closed indefinitely.

Still writing! This week is shit, but I have been adding words and deleting words and adding words and deleting them again. You know.
So close to done. sooooo closeeeeeee.
I hope some of my stress goes down when i start posting this fucker.

Date: 2020-03-20 06:16 pm (UTC)I'm still going in to work, but I'm one of two in my dept., and one of about 6 people in the 3 depts on my floor. We're hoping the University will eventually shut us down, but for now the Library is seen as "essential" for computer access for kids still on campus, sigh.
