This article in Reuters about a new "trend" in dating makes me laugh.

Speed dating and clubbing just don't seem to fill the void for many lonely hearts any more. "Intellidating" is being acclaimed as the hot new way to romance.

What will be next!? *g*

Honestly, though, in a way this is very interesting, and I'm all for intelligence becoming sexy and intriguing and a sought after attribute. The debating as dating thing, however? Not so much my thing, but whatever floats your boat. Poetry readings are cool, tho. And if we ever cycle back to a time when reading poetry was considered sexy and normal, I'd be amazed, but thrilled.

Btw, has everyone checked out the new personalized Google homepage thingie? 'Cause it's way cool. Particularly the quotes and the article links.

I like this idea! I could totally see attending a good debate, and then having dinner and discussing it. You'd find out a lot more about your date than just watching a movie.
