:::ahem:::

It's nearly 4 in the morning and I'm just home. Wahoo! *g* Happy New Years! *throws confetti*

So, the reveal is up at [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, and we can all find out who wrote what.

The Deal, the story written for ME, was written by [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka. Thank you, thank you. :) Yay!

My story:

Make Me Believe, Wiseguy, Roger/Vinnie with a dash of Sonny/Vinnie for seasoning. :) (waves to [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl *g*)

Betas: [livejournal.com profile] unovis_lj, [livejournal.com profile] terrio, and [livejournal.com profile] destina. Thank you to all three of you!

OMG I LOVE WISEGUY SO MUCH.

Okay, just had to get that out of my system. Been holding it in. *g*

So, I want to yammer on about Wiseguy and how much I loved writing this, even though it was Difficult and nearly killed me and how I've turned into a Roger girl (who'da thunk it?!) but also how much I adore Sonny (SOB!!) and Frank and the whole beautiful damaged lot of them, and how this show *kills*, I mean just kills me dead, and how I am in DIRE NEED of Wiseguy icons (particularly Roger icons. meep) but Lordy, I gotta go to bed.

*zzzzzzzz*

Just popping over to say I loved that Wiseguy story on Yuletide (and have ALWAYS been a Roger girl *g*) -- in fact, you inspired me to revisit the series. I've only seen the Profit arc from start to finish, and scattered other episodes, but I'm ordering the Steelgrave discs from netflix.

And if you find any icons, let me know. Otherwise, I might just have to cap and make my own.

Oh! The Steelgrave arc is fabulous. Brace yourself! *g* It's a kick in our stomach kind of arc. (btw, you should know that the final episode on the Steelgrave DVDs do not have the original music and it kind of diminishes the impact. If you send me your snail mail I can see if I can make a dvd copy of the ep remastered with the original music that [livejournal.com profile] killabeez made a while back. You have to see it with the original music! I insist!)

I actually haven't seen all of the series outside of the Steelgrave and Profitt arcs, and a few scattered episodes from the later seasons. I'm planning on purchasing the arcs that are now available on DVD.

oh, yay, that's terrific!

I will definitely take you up on that, and send my address under separate cover.

FYI, when I first mentioned hte wiseguy fic in my LJ, and old-school fan mentioned having read Wiseguy slash in 'zines (http://www.livejournal.com/users/karabair/385569.html), back in the day. I first saw it when some cable network aired a Mel Profit marathon around the time Spacey first got big. I taped and thought I was just going to watch for Spacey but was completely roped in by the whole thing (though Roger in particular).

I must also mention that I love your LJ having room for Wiseguy and Jane Austen *g*

Yes! I have seen some, actually, because I have generous friends who let me read their copies. I imagine there was a fair amount of WG zines back in the day, with pairings ranging all over the place, but mostly Sonny/Vinnie and Frank/Vinnie. They're probably all out of print, sadly.

The Stainless Steel Castle (http://seacouver.slashcity.net/merricat/index.html) has many Wiseguy stories. I suspect Roger makes several appearances, but it's probably mostly Sonny/Vinnie. I've read a few of these, and they're all good. Especially And Which is an Illusion (http://seacouver.slashcity.net/merricat/awiai.html), but you should wait to read that till after viewing the Steelgrave arc.

Also, you should know about [livejournal.com profile] sportshoes, which I just learned about, actually, even though friends of mine moderate it. hrmph. It looks like activity has died down some on the community, but I enjoyed reading through the posts. The last post has a link to a Roger/Vinnie fan vid which you should download if you have the capabilities!

There are probably other sites and things that I don't know about, but I'll pass them along if I find any, especially any Roger stuff. *g*

Ahahahahaaa. Yes, I'm feeling a bit schizophrenic at the moment. :)

oh, thanks so much!

I've mostly been involved in "younger" fandoms so far, so I missed out on the whole 'zine culture (though I did read some paperback compilations of fan stuff from the original ST, as a kid -- I just didn't realize there was more to it.)

I'll also have to hit you up for Austen fic recs at some point, as I went looking after seeing the recent bigscreen P&P but didn't find much that went beyond the predictable "Elizabeth & Darcy's wedding night" *g*
