Finally, I can join in and do a post about what I'm watching this season (and not a post on what I'm not watching). I was feeling sad that TV seemed to be leaving me behind, but I think I'm ready to commit to some TV now.

So, what I will be attempting to watch:

Friday Night Lights: I already talked a little about this show here. I like a show with good, strong relationships. Also, I like a show which will teach me things. I've got an original story idea that takes place in a similar setting, so I'm hoping to just absorb a lot. I like a show with strong, compelling characters.

Lost: Oh Lost! I'm so sorry I doubted you! I loved the premiere. The beginning blew what little mind I have right out of my head. I think [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63 is right on about Kate being manipulated into doing bad things. I think Jack is crazyfuckedup, but still kind of an amazing guy. Sawyer is Sawyer and, well, I don't trust his charming self. Twice bitten and all! But it was good to see him and how funny that they're training him to be a monkey? I am overwhelmed with how utterly evil Henry Gale is (he will always be Henry, to me, I think), and what a fucking fantastic actor that guy is. I love the layers of guilt they keep laying on, one on top of the other. I'm dying to know about what's going on! And! Someone somewhere on the internet said that the actor who plays Desmond is still being credited for the season, so maybe he's not dead! woo.

The Nine: Okay, I watched this show for two reasons. Reason 1 - Tim Daly. Reason 2 - Tim Daly. :D Okay, actually the second reason was because I was sitting down in front of the TV already and it came on. But, really! Tim Daly! God, how I missed him after Eyes. And, lo and behold I liked the show itself. I really want to know what happened in the bank for those 2 days. I'm intrigued by the girl that died and why everyone needed to know how she was and if she'd make it. I'm not sure I'm buying all of the set up they did regarding the coverup and stuff - it seemed a bit forced - but I'm willing to let the show find it's feet. I fucking love Tim Daly. I liked the rest of the cast pretty well. I loved the Bank manager guy and the reveal at the end with his daughter showing up at the jail to see the robber person. I'm having a bit of disconnect with the actress from 24, but she did well, even if it seems she's playing the same character! I'm so so on Doctor boy, but that's okay. Did I mention I love Tim Daly?

Battlestar Galactica: I'm looking forward to this. I keep hearing really good things. I've managed to stay pretty unspoiled, although I did look at the article in Entertainment Weekly which gave away one significant plot point concerning Starbuck and EvilCylonCKR and another plot point regarding Caprica Sharon (I think...). I put the article aside without really reading it, so it's just from the pictures they had that I was spoiled. Woo.

That's four shows, people. Let's see if I can keep it up.

I have watched Lost since the beginning and it's in turns always been really exciting and totally frustrating for me. I have never been able to stomach Jack, but I love Sawyer - partly because Josh Holloway is such a sweetheart and a very good actor to boot.

I couldn't get into The Nine, I fell asleep right in the middle of it.

BSG is a really cool, intense show, all the actors are firstrate, and yes, CKR does an excellent job as Leoben.

I find it hilarious that they're taking the animalistic method to "train" (break) Sawyer. (Jack's appeal is to his logic and sense of reason. Kate's is more emotionally manipulative.)

---

I love the trio. Each is like one-third of a person. And, but for the fact that network television will never unbend enough to show a poly-amorous relationship, were I Kate, I would be, "Lissen, I want both of you boys in my yard. And if both of you peckerwoods would slow down a moment and think about it instead of being 'me-alpha male', you would see that it's a way for all of us to compliment strengths and weaknesses and, well, scratch some mighty fierce itches."

And after that Sawyer's nickname for Kate would be "chicken-pox".

did you see "Eyes" when it was briefly on? Loved Tim Daly in it.

Oh, yes. I watched it. That's why I love him so much. Him and Rick Worthy. *LOVE*
