1. Daniel Craig is hot.

2. I *love* that they let Bond get rough and rugged and not quite so prissy. That he gets sweaty and dirty and all beat up. *yum* I like that they tried hard to leave some of the many Bond conventions behind - which makes sense since I suppose it was meant to be proto Bond in many ways.

3. I liked Eva Green in Kingdom of Heaven and I liked her in Casino Royale, but I'm not sure I bought the romance 100%. I was maybe 80% there. And it wasn't their performances, they were very good, and I totally bought his protectiveness of her - just not the love part so much - I think the chemistry was just a hair off.

4. My friends and I had a hard time not calling her Princess Vespa.

5. I predicted she was going to die (granted, it wasn't a big leap in logic *g*) and my other friend predicted she would betray him. We where happy to both be right. hee.

6. All the Montenegro scenes were shot in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, where I spent several days this summer. I squeaked, I was so excited. I walked all over that town (it's not big), and recognized every single exterior shot (except for the car chase, which was not shot there). The opening view of the colonnade, my hotel was right across the street! Wheee! And the Casino Royale hotel is the big fancy Grandhotel Pupp (pronounced "poop". *tee hee*)

7. I now want to watch all the Bond films and the only thing that's stopping me is that Daniel Craig is not in them. I've actually never seen any of the Sean Connery ones.

8. I loved all the poker scenes and was thrilled I knew enough about poker to follow what was going on. The hands they were being dealt were slightly outrageous (it's rare to get four of a kind!), but not totally unrealistic. I could predict many of the reveals. yay!

9. I want to try that drink he asked for during the poker scenes.

10. I'm not sure what's hotter: Bond in the La Perla swim trunks, Bond bruised and bloodied and *naked*, or Bond in a tux. I'm really quite flummoxed. I may have to watch it again, just to decide.

ETA: Hello!. Killa says he's not girly. Maybe. Maybe not. :D Girly or no, he crosses all sexual orientations, I think.

totally agree about the romance, I didn't buy it either. Liked the shower scene though. But the leap from cold hearted killer Bond to devasted lover Bond just seemed a bit too sudden.

And, so glad they left the majority of the puns at home.

Yes, dirty Bond was... guh.

Also, the torture scene was too fanfic for words.

I think I fell for Craig's Bond during that opening chase scene, largely because of his Hawaiian shirt. I immediately knew this was going to be a Bond I hadn't seen before. *g*

Hmm, I'm not sure I could choose, though I thought soaking wet Bond comforting Vesper in the shower was amazingly hot, as well. I have to see it again, myself. *g*

In conclusion: PHWOAR!

Btw, I've seen most of the Bond flicks over the years (you'd never know I was a Bond hater, would you? *g*), and if you liked DC as Bond, I think you should avoid the others like the plague. Unless, of course, you like OTT, moustache-twirling villains, tons of goofy Cold War spy gadgets, and an arrogant, womanizing, fuckhead of a Bond.

This was my first Bond movie, and I actually liked it far more than I expected to. I credit Daniel Craig, because his Bond is sexy and stunning. And yes, I like the fact that they let him get dirty and gritty and wounded.

The torture scene was so OTT slashy I almost laughed out loud. I figure it made some of my extreme h/c-loving friends happy. :-)

And OMG that was shot in Karlovy Vary??? I was there in 1993 with my grandparents, but it's been long enough that I didn't actually recognize it in the film. That makes me so happy, though. Holy wow -- I wondered where they'd filmed that.

I'm pretty sure I saw a recipe for the Vesper Martini online somewhere. Here it is (http://www.kingofcocktails.com/vesper-martini-recipe.php). Mmm.

I know! I was thrilled. I only wish they'd filmed while I was there. hee.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to not uy the romance. I liked it but I think it went a bit too fast (which makes sense with a movie, I suppose) and it did seem a bit off. I haven't seen any of the Sean Connery ones either and this movie definitely convinced me to check them out sometime. And I'm with you on the poker scenes, it was great to follow them but a lot of the hands they were soo lucky to get. Especially with multiple people getting amazing hands. But it is a movie so I don't mind so much. And my hottest would be the bathing suit scene. Although the torture scene was close as I was pretty much drooling throughout it, gaping at how much they were giving us.

*nods*

The torture scene had me worried for any kids he might want to have, but then, this is Bond, so I guess that's a moot point. lol.

I think I'm going to have to admit that my straight is broken along with my porn-fu, because I have to admit that I find Daniel Craig not the slightest bit hot. (Translated: I find Daniel Craig not the slightest bit girly. Which is probably what everyone likes so much.)

Sigh. Something's obviously wrong with me. *g*

*g* I suspect it's just him you're not attracted to. He <a href="http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/Daniel+Craig+s+gay+kiss-11451.html>can be rather girly.</a> And, I also doubt your porn fu is broken, my dear. I just think your porn fu might be selective! *hugs you a lot*

My friends and I had a hard time not calling her Princess Vespa.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who had this problem. It didn't help that she vaguely resembles Daphne Zuniga, either.

I haven't seen this version of Casino Royale, but I'm looking forward to it. In a fit of boredom once, I read all the Bond books and liked them a lot. Flemming's Bond is a very dark and troubled person. I liked Sean Connery, George Lazenby, and Tim Dalton as Bond and most of the films with Connery. The Bond girls and bond title songs are quite a parade of... something. I think you'd like "Dr. No" and "Goldfinger," although "Goldfinger" gets a little bizarre in the middle, I thought it was fun.

I've actually never seen any of the Sean Connery ones.

How is this possible? *g*

For me Bond will always be Connery. DC doesn't do it for me. ::sigh:: But I've heard good things, so maybe I'll have to see this.
