Friday Night Lights
Jan. 4th, 2007 08:36 amOkay, the quote is from the previous episode, but I saw both episodes on the same night, and so I'm all jumbled as to what happened in which episode.
Matt and his Dad killed me. That scene after the game? I almost couldn't take it, I cried real tears, this show just does that to me.
I kinda can't help but like Jason's friend, who keeps giving him advice contrary to what I want. *g* But, I think it's usually sound advice and coming from a place that Jason needs. He really can't and shouldn't just automatically forgive Lyla and Tim -- it has to be a journey, and God I hope he makes that journey! I think he might come to it eventually, certainly with Lyla and hopefully with Tim. They'll never be the same, though.
I think this happened in the previous episode, but Tim going to Lyla's house and telling her she should go and do the cheerleading saturday thing, that was so sweet. Tim *understands* her, right now, better than anyone. Also possibly in the previous episode, Tim going to Jason's room and telling Jay how much Lyla loved him -- it was almost like Tim was telling Jay how much *he* loved him. It seemed that way, to me.
How much did I love Landry and Tim together??? I loved it. I want more weight-lifting scenes with Landry reading to Tim. How wrong is it to kind of twig to Tim/Landry?? eeee.
I didn't think I could love Coach Taylor more, but that scene between him and Matt, after Matt's big blowup, I think I may have signed over my heart forever.

I love this show so much!

I mean, really, Tim/Landry has the potential to be *so much fun* that I don't think it should be wrong!

heeee. How adorable was the scene where Tim shows up for Landry's band? I snorfled while flailing with love.

I can totally buy a Tim Riggins who plays both sides of the field. (I think that Tim is in love with Jason just as much as he's in love with Lyla.)
I'm hoping for more Tim/Landry scenes because they really do have kind of a kooky odd couple chemistry.
And yes, that scene between Matt and Coach Taylor. Coach will never like any football player dating his little girl, but I think that this, more than anything hammered home to him what Matt's got on his plate. He may not be pleased that Matt's involved with Julie, but he's always there for his players.

Ahahhahah. Oh, yeah. It's practically a given, if you ask me. LOL.

Yes, I mean, I understand where they're coming from regarding Julie -- dude, I can't even read comfortably Matt/Julie! I have to cover my eyes! Matt's like my precious little boy. LOL. But, when push comes to shove, they're there for him.
