Friday Night Lights
Jan. 11th, 2007 10:59 amBefore every episode, I think my love for Coach Taylor could not be greater, but then I'm always wrong. It just keeps growing and growing. I loved the scene between him and Jason's dad, and really, I was pissed off at them before that scene and then after that scene I was sorta taken aback, just like CT, and then even more so with the scene between Jason and his mom. aiiiii. God, that just sucks. That's just the worst situation to be in. I'm sad to say I don't think a law suit is going to answer their problems, though I almost wish it would.
At the rodeo, with everyone cheering because that other team won (or lost, or whatever *g*) and all Coach Taylor did was look at Jason, and you could *see* his thoughts, process of his thoughts, of his feelings and everything. sigh. I didn't think I could love him more. I'm not even going to comment on the next scene they had after the rodeo because I don't know what to say about it, it was so achy. Both Jason and Coach Taylor are *good* men. Flawed, maybe damaged a litte (or a lot) but *good*, decent, honest men. It's heartbreaking.
Matt! Is so much more then he lets on. *g* I'm beginning to suspect him of knowing how to use his own kind of charm to get what he wants, or needs. Very slight manipulation, but always with that hesitant little stutter (more like he can't quite commit to a word than a stutter), and his wide-eyed caught-in-the-act look about him. Look at him walk on up to Buddy Garrity and get his dad a job without even a pause, yet still kinda sweet and stuttery. I adore him to bits, of course.
(oh, and Buddy Garrity praying for that win/lose/whatever cracked me up. bhwahahaaaaaaa. )
Tyra was my hero this episode. It feel it's a bit cheesy to say I'm proud of her, but that's the feeling I have. And proud of Tim, who is just so darn sweet I can't stand it. sigh.
There was a severe lack of Landry. This must be remedied, pronto.

Date: 2007-01-11 07:26 pm (UTC)I think that now that Matt is secure in his job as QB 1, now that he's won some games, he's started to realize that he's got power and I buy the nervousness and stuttering as genuine because he's never tried to use it before. He's never been given anything just for the asking before, so this was him losing his virginity so to speak.

Yeah. I like Landry. I want to know more about him. No Landry giving Matt advice ...
...and speaking of advice, Matt giving advice about women to Smash? flail.

Oh, DUDE. How could I forget about Smash and Waverly! I loved all of that, and YES, Matt giving advice to Smash and Smash just... *flails with you*

Date: 2007-01-13 01:00 am (UTC)Preach it! Tyra was so fabulous. The fact that she didn't take Tim back (even though they have chemistry that fairly crackles) just cements her awesomeness: she's a lots of things, but Tyra's no hypocrite.
