it was a temporary respite
Nov. 16th, 2020 10:37 amA few weeks ago I posted about my phone overheating and then getting stuck in a boot loop/stuck in recovery. WELL. IT HAPPENED AGAIN.
This time, without the phone overheating so it could have been that previously I thought it overheated but that wasn't what made it croak.
Anyway, it looks for real this time. My magic trick of sticking it in the fridge hasn't worked this time. Spent all weekend trying to fix it.
This "how to fix your phone stuck in recovery mode" video added a nice element of hilarious surreality to the whole thing. WTF. But I did all the things. Multiple times. Nada.
The phone is pretty much toast. BUT, did manage to carve out time to back it up during the crazy election week. So, there's that at least. The earliest appointment for an open genius bar is Wednesday about 20 minutes away by freeway lol. I'll take it!
I actually tried on Saturday to just buy a new phone but the apple stores near me need an appointment just to enter. I'm reluctant to go to a 3rd party vendor as the only reputable place I know is expensive.
Anyway, that's where I am. Oh and I can't log into work without my phone. HAHAHAHAH.

In other news...I have no other news other than watching the trump administration's slow death spiral is both stressful and amusing.
I had a picnic with friends on Sunday. That was nice.
It was a lot of fun seeing Bo-Katan on THE MANDALORIAN. ( Read more... )
I was a bit iffy on bringing in The Clone War and Star Wars Rebels animation characters to live action. But so far so good! There's a huge amount of noise over the casting for Ahsoka Tano. I too am a little wary. Le sigh. My favorite! She is precious! They better not fuck it up.
