Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching
I dunno, sometimes I wish there were less people watching. Like for Doctor Who, I could lop off whole limbs of that fandom. It needs a trim. lol. sorry, unpopular opinion.
Also, sometimes I wish more of my people were watching a show. There are plenty of people watching 24, but I have not much in common with them, or they play elsewhere, not in my little circle. But I'm not sure I really want *more* people watching, either.
So far I'm rather failing at this question. haha.
Um, let's see... Oh, I know!
I do wish more people were watching, and appreciating, Ashes to Ashes. Many fans watched the UK Life On Mars, but fewer made the transition to A2A, and quite honestly, I think A2A is the better show. And it has an interesting and strong female lead, battling the sexism of her fellow officers in the 80s. I love Alex so much, watching her struggle to live the life she has to in this world that can't be real, that ISN'T real, except that it totally IS real, while also going through so much self discovery and mystery and trauma, and not losing herself, nor losing sight of goal of recovery and returning to her "real" life and her little girl. And the evolution of Gene Hunt as a character is incredible, far more developed than he was in LoM. I don't really know how else to say it. You don't have to like him much, but you can't say he isn't infinitely complex and capable of being a bastard and a hero at the same time, hard to the point of stubborn bullheadedness yet showing moments of caring that are stunning in their truthfulness.
As evidence, I submit
rhoboat's awesome A2A vid from Club Vivid last year --> Love, Etc.
