'loha!

So, am back and not sleeping. Woo! Have been up since wee hours going through my back log of snail mail (scary!). I had an amazing time and did many many things, and I want to sort of chronicle the highlights, but it's hard to process it all, at the moment. Maybe when I finally get back home to california, since I'm actually not completely done with all this traveling yet.

I will say one thing. I had amazing luck with all my traveling connections and things. I had some truly nightmarish plane to train to bus type of traveling going on (more than once) and not once was anything late nor did I miss my connections or anything. I couldn't believe it; there were times when I had four minutes leeway between train transfers. Glad that's all over! heh.

I did this mostly to see what I could remember. Roughly in chronological order. I wasn't fannishly whatever with any of these until I stumbled onto fandom and usenet and mailing lists and whatnot during the great trek period, so those in bold just signifies extreme preoccupation. ;)

In the beginning, there was Star Wars, and then everything followed.

Raiders of the Lost Arc -- we can safely say all the Indiana Jones movies, but Raiders takes the cake.
Star Trek Movies -- Specifically, TWOK.
The Wizard of Oz books -- all of them. I even read some of the ones not written by L. Frank Baum. They sucked, yo.

Nancy Drew
Hardy Boys
Little House in the Prairie -- it started with the tv show (which I still get all shmoopy about) and progressed to the books, of which I read all of them, repeatedly, and then did research into LIW's life and things.

Wonder Woman
Lord of the Rings
Knight Rider
Sherlock Holmes
Time Bandits
Highlander 1-- before the series came into my life, I really loved that movie.
The Outsiders-- just the book. haven't ever really seen the movie all the way through.
Little Women and sequels

Knight Rider
All the Dune Books -- Obsessed with a capital O.
Moonlighting
Star Trek: Next Gen
Monkees
Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Beatles
MacGyver -- I still get extremely giddy about MacGyver. The first Mac in my life... *g*

Twin Peaks -- Twin Peaks was the first show where my close friends were also crazy obsessed as well. And thus there were Twin Peaks watching parties and Halloween costumes and random quote sayings, and rampant paraphernalia buying and such. Previously, I had always operated as a fandom of one. Well, except for Monty Python and Trek, which have always been popular with my friends.

Days of Our Lives -- I wouldn't make this bold, really, except for the fact that I bought my first TV and VCR for this show, so that I could record it while in class. *g*

X-Files-- this was the show that introduced me to fanfic. yay.

VR5
Strange Luck (miss this show!)
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (don't ask)
Animaniacs (obviously, my early college years....)

Highlander: The Series -- I loved this show when it first aired. I never would have thought, after the series ended, 'lo these many years, I'd *still* be obsessed with it. *g*

Forever Knight-- If I said it was the lighting on this show that got me hooked, would anyone believe me? I also couldn't quite believe there was a Vampire cop show in existence, and so I had to watch it.

Star Trek: TOS -- Ah, my first real fandom.
Star Trek: Voyager
Star Trek: DS9

Starsky and Hutch
Oz
Queen of Swords
Smallville
West Wing
The Matrix
Harry Potter (the completeist in me has to include this)
Hornblower
Alias
Pirates of the Caribbean Pirates! Arrrrr. I loves my Capt. Jack, I does
Las Vegas
Jane Austen Darcy! Elizabeth! *love*
Wiseguy Roger! Vinnie! Sonny! (SOB!!)
Eyes

phew!

And damn, it's cold here in NY. Where oh where did my sunny Spain go? Whimper.
