hafitalSo this birthday thing comes around every year! Crazy.
For my birthday I,
* Took the day off work, even though it's a Wednesday. Even though I have so much work.
* Bought a new laptop. I already have 3! Now I will have 4. But in my defense, I only really use 1 of them (the macbook). One is a work pc laptop, another is not really usable. And I wanted one for travel that's not my precious mac.
* Went on a hike! I started a bit too late so I couldn't do my usual 3 mile hike, but I got 2.5 miles in so that's nice. Lovely to hike on a workday.
* Went to see Thunderbolts again. There's so much about this movie that I really love, and then some big things I really disliked. Loved the characters (with the exception of Valentina and Walker), loved Bob, loved the whole wild Sentry and Void thing, loved the group dynamic even with Walker, loved Bucky on a motorcycle (honestly it should have been 2 hours of that), loved how it examined all our darkness and the empty feelings and didn't pull away from that. Some of that was grim, especially that one room of Yelena depressed on the bathroom floor with a bottle. Loved loved loved Yelena so much, and the Bob & Yelena dynamic in particular. But I GREATLY dislike Walker (for the most part), and I hated that Valentina got away with it. I don't like her much. After Captain America Brave New World (which I LOVED like A LOT) the end credit scene was a gut punch re Sam and Bucky, which you know, did that need to happen? I don't much care one way or the other about the new avengers thing except for it doesn't seem sustainable in the long run (and seems like a typical mcu gimmick imo). However, the more I think about whatever argument Bucky and Sam had, the more I'm looking forward to their makeup hug. :D :D :D
* Had yummy teppanyaki-style Japanese food for dinner with my some of my closest friends
* Get to ride pony tomorrow!
