Here I am with another quick update for you, my most dearest of friends. All you VVC folks, I thought of you all weekend! And knew you were all having a great time and that made me happy. I actually bought a supporting membership, so I'm looking forward to receiving a shiny new DVD.

Unfortunately, there isn't much of fun below the cut, although it's nothing too dire.

In no particular order: )

In more fannish news...

I went to see Pacific Rim, without realizing it had giant robots and giant lizards in it.... And well, Nathan is all grown up! Mostly I thought the film was a bit exhausting, but good fun. Not at all fannish about it. My biggest complaint, though, is why weren't there any girl/girl teams? wtf.

Then, I also went to watch World War Z, which was super stressful omg! I was basically a pretzel the entire time watching. I liked this film better than Pacific Rim, but it kind of fell apart for me a little at the end, but still, it was pretty cool.

I finished all of Fringe, which was great. I was worried )

I also watched all of Game of Thrones, which... I don't know. Am I the only one that has major issues with GoT? Not really enjoying it.

I also started watching Xena on Netflix, which I had never really watched before outside of an episode here or there. It's totally ridiculous, which I knew going in, and you know, mostly I find it a bit of a chore to keep watching actually, but I do love Xena and Gabrielle and they're not-really-text-but-more-than-subtext relationship. It's funny watching all those New Zealand actors popping up right and left...

Tumblr has me almost caving on doing an X-Files rewatch. I've resisted so far... But you know what they say about resistance.

Still happy rewatching Star Trek: Voyager. This show is like a warm, fuzzy blanket. My love for Janeway has pretty much exploded and I'm not sorry. Back in the day, although I always loved her, I wasn't really into reading J/C but now I find myself reading J/C babyfic and god help me WANTING MORE. Yes. Which is only outshone in my desire for Janeway/Paris babyfic, which god help me I WANT EVEN MORE and there's far fewer of it although there is some. Now you know my secret and can judge me accordingly. And although there is one or two J/C/P fics out there, no one has written the fic of my heart. SADNESS.

Aside from controlling my raging star trek voyager addiction, I find myself STILL thinking about the Fast and the Furious films. So far, they've been my favorite thing this summer. I did finally get to see Tokyo Drift, which was a better film than I thought it would be, although the thing that I DO NOT WANT was a harsh reminder at the end. :( I'm too lazy to do another cut tag, but I leave you with this image: Han and Gisele.

FYI, I think Sung Kang is obscenely good looking. Like, holy smokes, mister, do something about that because you're blinding.

Hahaha. Omg, that subject line is naughty. But I mean double fisting in the "holding two drinks at once" meaning. Not the other, ahem, meaning. *snerk*

~~~
I am rewriting my book and it is pretty much sucking all my life force. Just so you know.
~~~

In theory, I will *somehow* write my story for [community profile] hl_chronicles, but it will be quick and dirty. Sometimes quick and dirty really works out well, though, so here's hoping!

~~~
I finished seasons 1 through 3 of Fringe. It was fun! Although I did not like season 3 as much as I loved seasons 1 and 2. cutting just in case )
I am looking forward to season 4. I can only assume things get more complicated.
~~~

Double fisting is in reference to the fact that I felt the need to hold myself back from gobbling up Star Trek: Voyager episodes all in one sitting, due to wanting to have this rewatch last as long as possible, that I started watching Star Trek: The Next Generation at the same time, to alleviate the need to watch star trek episodes. haha.

So, it's Star Trek double fisting. So to speak. A distinction I feel must elevate the reference somewhat. lol.

Things I am learning in this most recent rewatch of such treasured shows:

1. Still stupid in love with Chakotay and Tom Paris. Not necessarily together. I'm good with them apart and with others. Although, in canon, every little scene between the two of them is SOLID GOLD. I love their in canon relationship to stupid little bits. In fanfiction, it's a lot more difficult. I had forgotten just how wackadoo C/P fanfiction was. It's like one big rapefest for this pairing, and that's annoying not to mention disturbing, and rife with out of character/character bashing/ female hate. But for the few wonderful C/P fics, it's definitely a pairing that has me recoiling from a lot of the fiction. Which, whatever, it's like almost 20 years old now, so what's the use of complaining? There was excellent fiction written, so that will have to do.

2. In previous viewings of this show, I always had mixed feelings about B'Elanna Torres, but I find this time I really love her. Go figure. I think it was how in conflict she always was with herself, I don't think I was ever really able to sympathize. And wasn't particularly willing to read it in fan fiction. But it doesn't bother me now.

3. Still love Janeway in all her bad ass, glory. I think my favorite Janeway episodes so far are the two part "Year of Hell" episodes. I haven't started the episodes where she really starts to kind of go off the rails and I'm looking forward to them. So far (through season 4) she's awesome.

4. Similar to my new found love of B'Elanna, I had in previous years never liked William Riker much, but I don't know you guys, this time he makes me smile and laugh in just about every episode!

5. Data is quite possible king of the universe.

6. Picard is dead sexy. This is a universal truth.

7. Voyager (and Star Trek in general) wasn't very good in depicting romantic relationships. They're not always that great with friendships, either. They set up relationships wonderfully, but then kind of drop the ball and expect a few scenes here and there to be enough development. This doesn't really bother me, to be truthful, it's not why I watch Star Trek, or why people watched Star Trek, but it is something that's interesting to note.

8. Since Seven of Nine has come on board, I have been watching every scene with Chakotay and her, and I gotta say, that pairing has some interesting dynamics, especially if you consider that neither of the actors were probably aware that the writers would create a romance for them randomly in the last few episodes.

I have a 20 year high school reunion today. sigh.

We've had 2 ponies die in as many weeks. One from colic, the other from laminitis. :(

Hello! *hugs you all lots and lots*

I know I say this every time I post, but I am alive! Yes! And things are more or less okay. :D I miss you guys.

~~~
Mother has lent me seasons 1 through 3 of Fringe and I am very much enjoying watching them. It's all very X-Files, only I find Fringe creepier, and I'm digging the more ensemble-like quality of Fringe than the UST duo dynamic of X-Files. And I like that its basically all human made horror, too.
I don't really have much to say about it yet, other than I'm impressed with the level of disgusting each episode dishes out, always when I'm eating dinner, too.
Oh, and, having never watched even 30 seconds of Dawson's Creek, I never understood the appeal of Joshua Jackson before. But now I do. *smitten*
I am familiar with Anna Torv, having watched her play a ridiculously attractive lesbian in Mistresses, so I'm very pleased to watch her be kick ass. And admire her hair. xoxo.
MacGyver meets the Doctor
hahahah. This is especially amusing since there is that wacky episode of MacGyver where he was being chased by daleks!! True!
~~~

Sadly, I think I might be a Maquis sympathizer.

I am obsessed with this song by Carla Bruni. Be obsessed with me.
