What I want is a meme where you plug in your LJ name and it then spits out a "This is what your friend's list looks like!" type picture, or maybe "Do You Resemble Your Friend's List" type meme. This occured to me last week and this week, when on Wednesday my friend's list explodes into Torchwood posts and then on Thursday it explodes into SPN posts. ;)

Clearly I need to watch SPN, to counterweight the Torchwood/Who side of my flist. :D And before all of you jump on top of me saying YES and offering source, please wait till after April 7th when I'm human again?

(BTW, I love my friend's list. I peeked at the episode reactions to last night's SPN and loved you all EVEN MORE because you are all uber adorable in your Sam/Dean love. *hearts you guys*)

Well, still watching.... ;)

Adam:

-Creepy as fuck. And creepy in the way both Doctor Who and Torchwood do better at, which is not overtly/unsubtly/overthetop "scary" alien monster.)
-Rhys is lovely. I'm torn with wanting him as far away from Gwen as possible, and loving how much he loves her.
-I hate what they're doing with Tosh. Show? Please stop.
-I'm as confused as the rest of you over the bizarre Jack/Gwen interactions. I have no problem with Jack/Gwen in concept, it just doesn't make sense in terms of the actual episodes. And then there's Rhys and Ianto, not that either Jack or Gwen are the poster children for monogamy.
-ETA: Oh! Rhys must have been confused when Gwen comes home and remembers nothing of the past two days. Unless Jack retconned him as well, which would make sense but wasn't shown. Bit of an open plot hole, but hopefully not left open on purpose.

Reset:

-Martha is made entirely of win, with side order of awesome.
-I like what we learn of Martha here, and that her cells have been altered by her time with the Doctor.
-I mostly just cringe each time Tosh has a scene with Owen, at least this time it wasn't only Tosh pining and Owen shutting her out entirely, which of course only opened the door for Owen to get shot. I know I said it already, but I really hate what this show does with Tosh. Not only is it repetitive and starting to get painful, but now it's ridiculous. She can't even ask a guy out without disaster.
-I kept thinking of the macrovirus episode of Voyager. heh.
-Yes, yes, Ianto is cute. :D

Is she a full doctor now? How much time has passed since Jack and Martha returned? Not that she isn't capable of, like, running the entire universe if she wanted to, or becoming a top UNIT person of super duper importance lickety split and in no time at all, and lord only knows what the woman learned in that lost year that would trump several medical degrees and then some, it just seemed like a bit of a jump, logistically speaking. Possibly I missed some key dialogue or exposition. *g*

I actually thought that was rather suspicious, and wondered if it will be a plot point later on.

I'm thinking they might revisit the Doctor Martha and UNIT thing at some point. Just because she thinks it was the Doctor who recommended her to UNIT doesn't mean that's really who it was.

oooh. That's sort of... uneasy making! lol. But neat. And good point.

She was very close to her full-MD when the Doctor picked her up, and we've never been that clear on A) how long they were gone in real time and B) how long they have been back. So I think it could be.

I LOVE MARTHA!

Had to say it one more time. *g*

*nod* I wasn't sure how close to being a doctor she was. And I'm also completely ignorant on the whole process of becoming a doctor besides what I've learned from TV (and American TV at that.) If she was on the verge of finishing, that makes sense.

hee. You'll get no argument from me!

In real time, I believe it's only 4 days. There's a line of Martha's in "Sound of Drums" that they arrive home on the day after the election, and she's only been gone for 4 days or so.

Trust me, it's confusing. And I still can't figure out *why* the whole of series 3 is confined to, erm... a week. Ish.

I think the prevailing theory is that the TARDIS landed to refuel on the rift in the tease of "Utopia" some time after Christmas but before the election (the TARDIS being stuck when the Master steals it with only a window of 18 months), and so while Martha was only gone 3 days, he was gone much longer, as "Sound of Drums" is set in June 2008.

In short, it's a big plot hole.

(I just pulled AHistory off the shelf to check, even tho Lars used my notes along with [livejournal.com profile] nnwest's TW timeline for that section. Cos it was faster and easier than trying to find that LJ post. I R GEEK YS.)

The 3rd season of Who took place over a 'real' time-span of only about 4-5 days, I believe they mentioned that once they got back in the season finale. But as for how much time has passed since the Doctor fixed everything, that we don't really know. Sounds like all Martha had left was exams, so it's possibly possible. I really don't think she would abandon being a doctor, even with a good job offer. That was the reason she left.
I mean, I could see the trauma of the Year That Wasn't getting to her, and maybe she did decide to stop, but I highly doubt it.

Oh, interesting. That's it? That works in terms of the LotTL episode, but then in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang it sort of felt like Jack had been gone for longer. hm.

Yeah, I don't think (and sincerely hope) that she wouldn't abandon becoming a doctor. It was hard to tell in the scenes with Owen, who clearly is a doctor, because it felt like it was written to show Owen up a little bit, which I don't have a problem with, but sort of muddies it further because I couldnt' tell if it's just that she knows more about the situation or if I'm suppose to read it as Martha already being an expert in her field. I don't really have a problem with any of these possible interpretations, it was just unclear to me.

Jack was gone longer. The TARDIS didn't stop to refuel in June 2008. It was closer to Christmas 2007. It's all very confusing. And I worked it all out in July, and it's still all very confusing.
